Meeting The Village

JP with Jaxx, Winteroak and Cindy

After being briefed by Stran and getting Hunter on the horse, the three headed among the cliffs to where the village was.

It didn't look promising as they were greeted by a less than welcoming committee of men holding weapons.

Islana averted her gaze from the men, she would have to let Stran do the talking, as she couldn't address the men unless spoken to, and hope that it worked out.

Trading a weapon for Hunter's life, was worth it, if that last ingredient was to be found in the village. The huntress realized the possibility was slim but it was better than none.

Hunter was wobbly as he rode with Islana. He felt like he was on a boat again as he swayed in different directions so his body could stay balanced while making him appear drugged up. His lips and mouth were black from all the charcoal he had been ingesting to neutralize the poison in his blood. Sadly the lack of sleep and the poison in his blood made him very delirious at this point. He could hear Islana and Stran discuss giving away his weapons for his cure, but he was unable to respond to that conversation. He saw the wolf/dogs barking at them as they warmed them not to advance. Hunter smirked as he muttered, "Hey puppies......... wanna play?" Then he saw the kids and male warriors who were now on guard. Hunter muttered, "Oh.......not good. Days dunna looks fendly." Hunter squinted as he tried to look at them with his blurry vision and hallucinations interfering. Then he muttered, "Hey Red...........Do wut ye hav ta. We ned ta surviv."

It was difficult to tell, at first, what Hunter was saying but Islana heard the question about having what they needed to survive.

Was Hunter actually in a brief second of clarity? Islana could take the nickname of Red as possibly being that.

"We'll be fine." Quietly trying to keep the man calm and get him to not say something to make the process with this clan even more difficult.

Stran stepped forward with his hands well away from his weapons. He spoke a few words he had learned from the Odsier, hoping someone here would understand otherwise it would be an impossible task.

He pointed at Hunter and Islana, gesticulating. The clansmen looked on still on edge but didn't seem like they were going to attack.

Looking around the village in more details it seemed half empty. You saw almost no men of fighting age present.

One of the older men shouted something in Odon to a group of women that were looking on and soon an older, plumper woman with tan complexion and long black hair stepped closer.

She looked she was from the Plains and did not look like the other clanswomen you could see.

The dogs kept barking at you, circling your mounts.

The men hadn't attacked which was probably a good sign. Islana let her eyes focus around the village. No men of fighting age gave the huntress a sinking feeling. As it seemed apparent what that meant.

There was maybe a touch more of hope when the older woman stepped near. Still, Stran was the one here with knowledge of the language and Islana knew it would be better to stay in the protocol of the clan. So, she would speak if Stran asked her to but not before.

Hunter noticed the lack of men as his head wobbled a bit. A bit of black drool seeped from his mouth and trailed down his neck. His lips, mouth and throat were coated black now from the charcoal he had been ingesting. He missed the ability to taste food and drink now. At this point there was a lot of food and drink he would miss out on if he didn't get a cure soon. Since he was getting used to seeing the hallucinations, he was able to ignore them as he looked to see if they had the mushrooms sitting out.

The woman translated the words between Stran and one of the elders. The man from Ostiarium waved and gesticulate as he spoke, sometimes glancing at Islana and pointing at Hunter. The three elders appeared to discuss as much among them and they appeared to shout at the woman and in turn Stran. Their conversation went on for quite a while and at times it seemed they would come to blows but eventually one of the trio stepped forward and shook Starn's hand and patted him on the shoulder.

Stran nodded at the men and turn to speak to Islana.
