Questioning Tar

JP with Tarmen and Winteroak:

Tarmen looked Tar over at the mention of being a first year. He wondered if now would be a good time to ask his affiliations with the Creed, though with the Arbiter distracted he probably wouldn’t get a better chance.
“Ever heard of somethin’ called the Creed? Word was it came with the first ships.”

Tar paled at the mentioned of the Creed of Slivikhi. He had no way of knowing what had happened in the city since he left. To be honest he never thought he would hear that name again.

"Nasty business that. But yes, it was one of the reasons I left. Are they still around?" He asked curious.

Tarmen leaned closer to the fire, more interested after seeing the man react.

“They had a cult, been pullin’ strings, killin’. Then they were slaughtered to a man. As far as I heard anyway, I sadly missed the whole deal. There are probably a few stragglers that fled after.”
His eyes darted from the fire to Tar’s, looking for some further tell.

“Heard they had some odd ways of convincin’ folk. They try to get you before you left?”

"They had some type of drug. Supposedly allowed you to talk to the gods." He said and you notice that his words did not carry any sarcasm as if he believed the gods could be reached. "Didn't try any myself but the gods have walked this world for long..."

"Did you run across many of the Neph-Kin down there?" He asked still not sure how these people had survived what the caves of the Ypogeios had thrown at them.

Wondering if this change in topic was hiding guilt or trauma, Tarmen humored it.
“That’s what they’re called, eh? Yeah, we killed quite a few. Hardy bastards.”
He grabbed the claw that was resting by him, the last piece of his necklace. Turning it over in his hands, a slight melancholy wormed into his tone.
“Have to say, enjoyed takin’ their lives immensely. Never found out what they wanted us for, though.”

Tar shrugged. "They are known to take slaves mainly to breed." He said. "Their procreation cycles are low. The mould is a hinder for them as well in some ways." He continued adding what little he knew about the subterranean race.
"What next for you and your party?" He asked Tarmen

The question took him a moment. He hadn’t really thought of himself as part of the other’s growing group. More like an occasional ally or someone who always just happened to be there.
He had thought of offering Alexis to join him, but had reconsidered after seeing how well she got on with her little crew. She was clearly very happy amongst them.
Tarmen leaned back, beginning to fully relax and accept that he was safe.
“I know I better be headin’ back to Aquilo. I have a mine that needs to be caved in after what I know now. Not sure what the rest of them will do.”
