Not a booty call pt 2
Aaliyah blinked up at him a bit shocked. “ oh shit..” he stammered “ my bad I thought you were someone else.” She relaxed a little raising a brow at him. “ clearly.” He stepped to the side and she walked in. “ look.” He started closing the door behind him “ I’m not really in the mood for company. I got my boys tonight.” She waved him off dropping her bag on the floor as she sank down onto his couch. “ it’s not like that tonight. I just need a place to crash. Leo put me out and took my wallet so I can’t get a room or nothing.” He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back against the door.
It was safer over there. While neither him or Aaliyah. Were in love with each other they had chemistry that was off the charts. He had met her through her page and even paid for her time a few times. Over time though they had become friends and more of a Deb situation. She didn’t make him pay anymore but she did show up like sometimes. But she had never stayed the night. “Isn’t that your place? Just call the cops.” He told her. She huffed and rolled her eyes at him “why? So they can come, say it’s a domestic dispute and have me go some place else anyway? I’ll pass and save me the trouble of my neighbors knowing my business.” He didn’t take the opportunity to remind her that this town was the size of a tea spoon and by tomorrow afternoon everyone would somehow know anyway. Instead he focused on the legality’s of the situation. “ you put him on the lease?” She shook her head “ no but he has been there longer than six months and his mail goes there so technically I can’t just put him out.” She stood up then crossing her arms giving him a frustrated look “ so can I stay here or not man?” He sighed. “ yeah I guess but just for the night.” He had boundaries. Rules for the way he ran his life and raised the boys and having your hook up buddy crash at yours whenever was not ok with him. She smiled and started to pick up her bag to head to his room. “ no.” He told her when she gave him a exasperated look he explained again “ my sons are here. I don’t want them waking up to some random girl in my bed. You sleep right there.” Pointed to the couch then living room closet “ extra blanket and stuff are in there. I’m going to bed.” He didn’t give her the chance to protest before walking past her down the hall to his room. He flopped face first onto his bed then rolled over rubbing his face with his hands. He had a headache. He checked his phone one more time for anything from Dakota. Still nothing. Closing his eyes he forced his self to sleep.
In the living room Aaliyah mumbled to her self as she made up the couch. She knew James was a private person and would probably be uncomfortable with her there but she didn’t care. She didn’t have money for a room and she had no where to go. She could have probably hit up on of the guys on her client list but they would have wanted more than just to let her crash and she honestly didn’t have the energy for that right now. Paying down she let her self feel the break up now. This was the second time in the last year they had broken up and the second time he had kicked her out of her own apartment. Tears welled up as she tried not to think about all the things he had called her. She also tried not to think about how right he was. Silently she cried her self to sleep.
