War On MegaCorp (Pt 5)

“We don't have any time to lose.” Ami tapped a photo of Tzeitel being tortured on Tzeitel’s stomach. With all the blood and everything else happening to Tzeitel it was almost impossible to miss how Tzeitel’s stomach was just barely rounding when the picture was taken. There was no other explanation for a meta girl to be gaining weight in MegaCorp. Ami knew. “What if it's already too late for her?”

“It won't be. We'll save her and the others.” James said as he walked into the room. “Tzeitel is too stubborn to die.”

“She can't be alone through this.” Ami said, more tears coming to her eyes.

“We’ll save her.” James reminded Ami, stroking her hair gently. “We promised, remember?”

Klaire nodded and pulled Ami into another hug.

“She must be so scared.” Ami hiccupped into Klaire's shoulder.

“Lets go…” Klaire whispered as she hugged Ami one more time.

James gently picked up Ami and they all three walked to the van to leave with Alex.

Ami cried into James’s shoulder. Tzeitel needed to be rescued, not just now but months ago.

Once everyone was in Alex started up the van before heading out.

James would gently sit Ami down, buckling her in and let Klaire sit with her as he got into the front passenger seat.

Klaire would buckle up and pull Ami close, happy to let her get the emotions out. “We’ll save her…I know we will.” She whispered, determined more than ever now.

“So where to next boss” Alex asked Klaire as he pulled onto the main road.

“They're forcing her to have kids.” Ami whispered, still in tears.

“You already know where to,” James muttered and shoved the address toward Alex. “Leave the girls alone for now…”

Klaire sighed heavily, hating that information. “I know…”

Alex nodded started headed to the address. Rolling down the widow he tossed out several metal birds that came to life and began to follow the van from the sky.

“She never wanted that.” Ami sniffled.

“I hope no one realizes those are fake birds,” James said with worry.

“I know. I hate it for her.” Klaire refused to cry, keeping her emotions in check as she prepared to attack the facility they were headed to.

“It's not fair.” Ami whispered. She knew that Klaire wanted children but couldn't have them.

“If they do it'll serve as an early warning system for us” Alex replied “besides they'll let me know if there's anything suspicious ahead or behind us.”

Klaire nodded, but couldn’t find the words to help comfort Ami at the moment.

“Good point,” James said as they slowly got closer to their destination. “I hope this kid isn’t suffering already. I’d rather avoid seeing more children suffer…”

“That's why we're fighting back” Alex replied “even after we get them out i don't think I'll be walking away from this shadow war.”

Ami tried to focus on their current mission but could not help worrying about Tzeitel. Another tear trailed down her cheek.

Klaire gently wiped the tear away from Ami’s cheek and hugged her close, reminding her that there was still hope with her actions.

James went silent, looking out the window as they rolled up into an area to stop. It was always best to hide the van and walk the rest of the way to the facilities.

Alex hopped out and walked to the back of the van animating the wolf statue and grabbing his guns.

Ami scrubbed her eyes with her sleeve and jumped out of the van with her own little guns. She touched the wolf statue, then began walking swiftly towards the facility. Anger was beginning to drive out her grief. She wanted MegaCorp to pay for what had been done to her sister.

Klaire made sure they all had their weapons and walked next to Ami, determined to keep her safe.

James nodded at Alex as they headed toward the facility. “You be careful, Ami. We’ve got your back, so if anyone tries to corner you, yell.” He reminded her.

“I'll knock out security and comms” Alex replied “you three head to the kid.”

Ami was planning on doing more than yell. She liked the feel of the gun handle in her hand. She wanted to make MegaCorp pay for what it had done.

“Thanks, Alex,” James called as he followed Ami and Klaire. They would sneak in once the cameras were taken out. It would be odd - no one seemed to be around. No guards, anyway.

Alex nodded and slowly began his way towards the security control center.

Ami was growing agitated by the absence of guards. It made no sense. There were always guards.

That was when it showed up - one of those odd mutant soldiers. It had no closing on, but its body was like that of a human sized rat with spikes all along its backside. Turning its head, it pinned six eyes upon the group before letting out a roar and rushing toward them.

James quickly shot fire toward it that it ducked under just in time, quickly moving on all fours now.

“Ami, shoot for the head!” Klaire said as she took a shot with her rifle.

The metal wolf would launch forward and bite down on the rat holding it in place.

With the rat held in place, Ami had an easy time shooting it in the head multiple times. First right between the eyes, then each eye, the nose.

Klaire shot along the chest, making sure to hit the heart every time while James set it on fire. She knew for a fact this couldn’t be the only one, keeping her ears strained for any sounds they were not aware of yet.

There was some scuttling.

From below.

“We have to find stairs.” She ordered as the rat-thing crumpled and created a large pool of blood and flesh on the floor.
