Life In MegaCorp (Pt. 6)
Tzeitel seized the opportunity. She grabbed the tray her breakfast was brought in on and began bashing guards' heads in. She was determined to escape or die trying rather than be MegaCorp breeding stock.
The guard with Coral instantly activated Tzeitel’s and Nine’s collars so they would paralyze both of them. “ Damn it!” He seethed.
Coral only laughed more as Nine clawed at his own neck and fell to the floor as the paralyzing agent began to kick in. He let out a guttural and sad sounding growl, limbs falling limp by his side as his crimson eyes peered toward Tzeitel, silently pleading her for help that he knew would not come.
“No!” Tzeitel screamed, her body went limp so she hit the floor hard. Her heart pounded and her mind raced with panic.
One of the few guards close to Tzeitel stopped her fall just before she could hit the floor. “Thrane will kill us if she loses those kids.” He grunted.
The others worked to drag Nine out of the room by his ankles.
Coral grinned at Tzeitel, standing over her now. “See? This is what happens when you fight back. Thrane will make you live. He’ll do horrible things to you. Things that will make Canestone seem like a fucking paradise!” She said through an annoying laugh.
Tzeitel was having a flashback of waking up paralyzed in Canestone's lair. If Loreen could take her vitals now she would get some alarming readings. She tried to fight the paralytic agent.
“What the fuck are you doing?!” Cook’s voice was full of anger as the guard gently set Tzeitel down on her bed. Coral quickly turned around to face him, acting all innocent.
“She was having one of her self-harm episodes!” Coral lied with a shrug.
“Get the fuck out.” Cook snapped and she giggled.
“Can’t make me do anything, Cook-y boy.” She cooed.
“Don’t call me that.” He retorted and went over, shoving the guard away from Tzeitel. “Leave her alone! Get out! All of you!”
As Cook worked to make all the guards leave, Coral turned and leaned toward Tzeitel, whispering in her ear. “You’re lucky Thrane hates Canestone. If it were up to me, I’d have you living with him.” She gave Tzeitel a cold smile before following the guards out of the room. “I’ll tell Nine you miss him when I’m fucking him later!”
Tzeitel looked at Cook, her eyes full of terror and disgust. Bile rose in her throat.
After getting them all out, Cook noticed the look on Tzeitel’s face and grabbed a trash bin for her. Quickly, he helped her sit up so she could vomit into it if need be, even pulling her hair out of the way. “I’m so sorry, Tzeitel…”
“Can't protect me.” Tzeitel said shakily after she was done throwing up.
Setting the trash bin aside, Cook got a napkin and cleaned up Tzeitel’s face gently before helping her lie back down. He didn’t know what to say to that.
“It's going to happen again.” Tears ran down Tzeitel’s face. “You should let me kill myself.”
“No, your friends plan to get you out of here. Your sister wants to save you, Tzeitel. She wants to meet you. You’re not allowed to die…you can’t give up.” Cook explained as the nurse from earlier finally returned. “Where the hell were you when all this happened?!”
The nurse frowned at Cook. “Oh, shut up. You’re just a cook.” She grumbled.
“No, this woman is under strict surveillance! How did they get past security!” Cook snapped as he stood between the woman and Tzeitel.
The nurse took a step back. “That’s none of your business.”
“It is my business.” Cook pulled out his revolver while his free hand snuck out a taser and slid it into Tzeitel’s hand. Whenever that paralysis wore off, he wanted her to defend herself.
Tzeitel struggled to wrap her fingers around the taser. She was going to make a good account of herself.
“I think you should leave,” Cook said, but the nurse refused and lunged forward. Her body changed, deformed and strange structures shot out of her body. Cursing, he took a few shots, but it seemed not to stop her. “Shit, shit, shit!”
Tzeitel’s grip was weak and her hands were clumsy as the agent slowly wore off. She clutched the taser as well as she could, pointing it at the transformed nurse.
The nurse-monster landed on Cook and snapped sharp teeth just inches from his face as he fell back. “What the hell?!” He yelled out and tried to get the gun at a good angle toward her head. “Tzeitel, use the taser!”
Tzeitel forced her fingers to work and squeezed the trigger, the taser pointed at the nurse’s ass crack.
Was that an ass crack, though? All the parts were in different places, so it was anyone’s guess, but the jolts worked. This was flesh, a being full of liquid, so it screeched and went fall away, tumbling to the floor. It was twitching there as Cook took shots at it.
“Fuck…” Cook gasped heavily as the “nurse” stopped moving. He was shaking.
“Keep shooting.” Tzeitel struggled to lift her head.
