Meanwhile, inside, Loreen was using smelling salts to wake Alex up.

“Morning beautiful” he spoke in a teasing tone.

“I will stab you with another syringe if you keep that up.” Loreen gave him a nasty look. “Now, keep your voice down. Evie is proving to be a…issue. Her power is anyway. Sparks are always dancing in her hair as a sign her power is active…guess what her hair is doing right now?”

“I'm guessing imitating those plasma balls at the science museum?” He whispered rubbing his head.

“You got that right.” Loreen said with a sigh. “She hasn't seemed to notice or is too exhausted to care, but we need to deal with her. She seems to be liking Riven, so maybe he can help…”

“Sounds good to me he has plenty of experience with Joel, Nine, and Radar” he replied “how you holding up you seemed pretty mad while dragging River out of Riley's room.”

“I'm fine and of course I was mad. She was supposed to be helping Riven watch over Evie.” Loreen replied.

“Is that the only reason” Alex replied dropping his usual teasing tone “ look, I know I get on your nerves a lot, but with everything you've done for Riley, I consider you family even if you two are not together. I just want to make sure you know what you're doing by giving him up. I don't want to see you hurt.”

“I said I'm fine, Alex.” She didn't want to talk about this.

Alex nodded and got up before giving her a hug “well if you ever want to I'm here to listen.”

Loreen grimaced in discomfort at the hug. “Thanks…” She murmured and went to check on Evie.
