Skye Life - No Pets Indeed Part 2
Vas stiffly sat down at the edge of his tub, nervous as he took full stock of himself. He looked like ten miles of bad road, the bruises at its most colorful making him look like some macabre body art. He listened to their muffled voiced shoulder slumped, he didn't like things this uncertain. He did like the trouble he was at the center of or bringing tornle to his rescuer. He said and waited, wringing his hand. Vas just had every reason in his mind to be on edge.
Serena knocked softly on the door. “Hopefully these fit,” she offered. “An’ then you can come meet everyone.”
Vas opened the door to let her in. “I think I kind of have already.” He said quietly accepting the clothing. Vas was tall like Mathias but the two had completely different builds. Where Mathias was long and lean Vas had a much harder edge. Even from the last time Serena had seen him n he had shot up and filled out looking less puppy a closer to a full hound.
“Well, officially, I mean,” Serena said, handing him one of Mathias’ black tees. “Don’t worry, it’s gonna be okay. We look out for each other, just like we said.”
Vas gave a nod as he tried to put the shirt on. He got stuck halfway hissing in pain, he still didn't have full rotation of his shoulder yet. “I … need a little help.” He said, sounding defeated.
“Oh. Right. That. It’s okay, I got you,” Serena said, standing on the tub ledge to help him on with the shirt.
Vas winced trying his best to help as she gently tugged the shirt on. It was a bit snug but when it came to life in the sprawl when did anything fit anyone properly. The sweats were easier even though he was very stiff. He leaned against the wall and needed a moment to catch his breath. Moving around so much was making him a bit dizzy on top of that.
“Easy, easy,” Serena told him, as if she were talking to a child. “You can sit on the recliner, you’ll be a lot more comfortable than the old tub.”
“You're already in trouble. If I stay out of sight, maybe they'll be less mad.” Vas said sullenly.
Serena chucked, leaning her head on his arm for a second. “I don’t think it’d make much difference either way. ‘Sides, Cyd wouldn’t yell in front of someone. She’d talk through clenched teeth, like this,” she mimicked, locking her jaw. “It’ll be okay. Trust me. An’ then Mathias can shower. He’ll feel better if he smells less.”
Vas let out breath he hadn’t realized he had been holding. “Okay.” He said obediently, his shoulders relaxing a little with a nod.
