Skye Life - The fan's been hit

Nate held his gun moving with the throw flipping fast to land on his feet to untwist his arm. He broke Vas’s grip a little too easily. Nate went for a rabbit punch, Vas was already turning and instead nailed him just under the ribcage.

Vas knew cars that had a softer hit! It was a sharp jab and it sent him reeling back nearly tripping over his own feet to get a little distance between them. He only needed to be hit like that once to know to not let that happen again!

Nate pressed the attack taking aim. Vas was still trying to recover and scrambled out of the way and out the door as the gun deafened him. It quickly devolved into a chase with Vas hustling down the sidewalk and into the ally.

On a normal day it didn’t matter who was chasing him he could about run anyone most folk in the sprawl without thinking too hard about it. Nate …. Nate wasn’t just keeping up he was gaining on him at a terrifying clip. This was about when it started to really sink in how in over his head he was. This guy? He was a machine and to even think he might hold his own against him felt like it bordered on arrogance. But it was all he could do, just try to keep running, to outmaneuver, play to his home field advantage and he saw Nate’s shadow getting closer.

“Running like a little bitch? Fuck man what happened to you?” Nate asked. People cleared out of the park, as Nate grabbed the nape of Vas’ shirt, tossing him to the ground.

Vas went down recovering into a sloppy roll and tried to spring back with an attached but Nate was already on the inside and Vas could feel the air of Nate's fist passing by his nose as Vas jerked his head back. Just like that Vas was pushed into a defensive position, ducking and dodging, and he was forced to backpedal, even blocking the blows left Vas wincing and unable to stand his ground.

Each blow was beaten back and the few he did land Nate didn’t even wince. Worse Vas was starting to tire and it was starting to show, He was slowing, and gasping from the extended fight and he wasn't sure if Nate was playing with him or not. But this had now become a battle of attrition.

The two tangled Nate bearing down on Vas locking up each other's arms, Nate twisted and snarled. Vas let out a yelp as he found himself in the air lifted up like an oversized dol and slammed down to the ground. Vas, for the second time, had the wind knocked out of him and lay on the grass dazed and stunned. Nothing wanted to move even when he heard the click of a hammer's gun being pulled back.

Serena shoved her way out of the closet, tripping over Trashcat as Cyd helped Mathias, making sure his arm wasn’t broken.

Mathias gritted his teeth as Cyd helped him up. “I'm fine, I’m fine … asshole jus twisted it.” Still hurt like a bitch. “Where the head did they go?” He said reaching for his jacket.

“VAS!” Serena yelled, edging past her siblings to try and help. “They’re in the park!” She called. “They’re gonna take him!”

“Serena!” Cyd shrieked, grabbing for the teenaged Skye.

Mathias along with Cyd grabbed at the girl. “Stay inside, what are you going to do Serena? Think!” He said sharply.

“We have to help him!” She cried, her voice in hysterics. She bit at Mathias’ hand. “He’d help us! He helped me!”

“Why are you biting me! OW! SERENA!” Mathias winced refusing to let her run off and get shot.

Cyd grabbed Serena into a hug, pulling her back into the apartment, with Serena doing her best impression of Trashcat about to get a bath. “It’s okay,” Cyd soothed as Serena sobbed.

“No!” She screeched, as the unmistakable ‘pop’ of a gunshot sounded from the park. “VAS! VAS!”

“Stay. Here.” Mathias said running out and slamming the door behind him. He padded down the street and around the corner toward the park but by the time he got there, he could hear a car peeling out but it was long gone. There was no way he was going to chase that shit down. He held on to some slim hope and ran to the center looking for something anything to give a clue what and how it went down.
