Glances (J/K)

Johnathan stole what he thought would be a quick glance at Khunara, but his gaze lingered a little longer than expected. He admired her bravery and compassion. He stifled a chuckle as he watched the small defiant group of hair fall back to where Khunara had just moved it from. Realizing he was staring a few seconds more than what was comfortable, he looked back to the road. "The stars are the best part about living out here, in my opinion." Johnathan said, hoping that she didn't notice his prolonged glance, and hoping that he didn't just hurt the fragile foundation of trust they'd built in a short period of time. A mutant making it across citys, maybe even states, in their modern day was almost unheard of - it was a rare sight, and to Johnathan, it was intriguing. He wanted to know more about her and the stories she may have, but he was never really one for socializing.
