Almost there

Lydia moved gently to help Finlay sit against a dry part of the cement walls before opening the can of beans. She opened the can of beans, placing a plastic spoon into the can before setting it aside and opening a bottle of water. "Let me help with this, I don't want you to waste any extra energy." Her tone was soft, almost maternal, as she lifted the bottle to Finlay's mouth. There wasn't too much travel left before they'd surface at the lake, where they could hopefully hide out and rest for a bit before making the rest of the way to Johnathan's house. The thought brought a warmness to Lydia's chest, especially knowing that she could return the favor by helping someone else in a similar way.
