JP - No Regrets
“I have no regrets…” Fang said and hugged Lola tightly.
“Just leave them be, Lyle.” Abraham said calmly. “Did you tire Anna out? She has yet to come out.”
"That's one way of putting it" Lyle chuckled as he stood up to take the coffee to the room "Don't be surprised if she's walking funny."
All four of them rolled their eyes.
Anna was still curled up on her side, back to the door as she lay there, trying to process all that happened the night before.
Lyle walked into the setting the coffee aside as he sat down on the bed. "Morning how are you feeling?"
“I’m hurting down there now, you know…” Anna snorted and turned to lay on her back, staring up at him. “...it is…worth it, though.” Her tail flicked up at his face.
Lyle smiled down at her before offering the coffee "I'll try to be more gentle next time."
“If there is a next time,” She said as she sat up and took the coffee.
"I know there will be" he replied scratching her ears "you can be yourself around me you're going to have to get use to it once we escape."
Anna was still too exhausted to argue as she sipped the coffee. “Fine, be I get to be on top next time. You’ll be shocked at how good I can be.” Her tail poked his chest this time. “I’m assuming the others are aware of what happened?”
"I'm pretty sure people on the other side of the world heard you" Lyle teased, stroking the base of her tail "and by all means you can be on top as much as you want."
Anna rolled her eyes and drank more of her coffee. “Considering we both know ol’ Abe out there well enough, I’m assuming he’s already preparing for us to get moving?” She inquired.
"He is I just wanted to make sure you were able to walk" he replied "we've got some distance to cover before we get to the rendezvous point."
“I can walk, soldier boy,” Anna pinched his cheek as she got out of bed and went to grab her clothes. “I had to walk miles with a broken leg before, so this will be fine.”
"Good to know but if you need a break let me know and I can princess carry you" he teased grabbing his shirt.
Anna snorted. “I’m no princess, Lyle.” She said and pulled her leotard on. Once her cloak was on she made her way outside to the others.
"You should ditch the robes you look better in just the leotard" he teased, slapping her ass while following her.
Anna hissed at the slap and glared at him. “I’d rather MegaCorp scum not see this!” She blurted.
The other four just stared at the couple.
"So it's only for me then" he teased kissing her cheek as he headed over to grab his gear.
“Are we ready to get moving now?” Riven asked, crossing his arms.
Abraham nodded. “I believe so.” He said calmly.
Lyle nodded before putting on his backpack "let's head out then."
They would walk, rest at night, and walk again for the week before reaching where the helicopter was supposed to be waiting for them. Only, there was no helicopter.
“Did they forget us?” Riven asked.
"I doubt it perhaps it's just a storm delaying them" Lyle replied looking to Abe "think we've been figured out?"
Abe shook his head. “No, but we can radio them while here. See what’s going on.” He walked over to the equipment that was in a shed nearby and got to work.
“River’s dad still freaks me out.” Riven muttered.
Anna kicked Riven’s leg. “Be nice to the old man.”
"He's a good man" Lyle replied remembering their interactions in the village "still it's not like Megacorp to be late."
Abraham got the radio equipment working and made the call on multiple frequencies. There was no answer from anyone, so he returned to the group. "No answer," He explained. "Something must be going on."
"So, what? We wait around all day? Fuck that," Riven replied. "I say we keep moving and get the fuck out of here."
"We'll only get hunted down," Anna mused.
"We always get hunted down," The ice wolf growled back. "I'm done working for these assholes!"
