Seeing him move closer, Anna instinctively backed up until she was pressing to the wall of the house they had chosen to hide in. “What do you mean?” She asked, confusion on her face. “I’m a meta. There is no kindness for me from the world…”

"There is and once we escape I will show you" he promised leaning down to kiss her again.

Anna froze again, still unsure how to react. In fact, she didn’t know what she was supposed to do and just pressed against the wall, waiting for him to tell her what he was doing.

Lyle pulled away and looked into her eyes " you deserve to be loved Anna even if you don't believe you do."

“Why me, though? Don’t you prefer women with feathers?!” Anna tried to change the subject off of herself.

"That doesn't mean I can't have a thing for cat ears" Lyle replied, reaching up and scratching hers "are you saying you don't find me attractive?"

Anna swatted at his hands. “I do not know how to feel right now. Just give me time, human.” She told him and walked back to Lola and Fang. For her, emotions were locked up and she never let anyone in. If this Lyle - this human - really wanted her, he would have to prove it.

Fang looked toward Anna and let out a low warning growl.

Lyle nodded and took off his dog tags before walking over to Anna and putting them and her neck "whenever you're ready I'll be here." He whispered into her ear before kissing her on the cheek.

Anna hissed and snapped her teeth at him.

“You realize she looks as if she’d bite your dick off, right?” Fang asked Lyle.

"I trust her with my life" Lyle replied, taking a seat next to her before offering Fang and Lola some snacks he kept on him.

Lola was hesitant, but her hand shot out and took one of the snacks before she crouched and hid behind Fang. He took the other snacks and smiled in appreciation. “Thanks.”

Lyle smiled at her " no problem here you two can keep the rest I'm sure you two are hungry" he spoke before pulling up a picture from his phone it contained mostly everyone from 5 years ago"this is a photo of my friends from the village we use to have."

“Village?” Fang asked as he looked. “Like…for metas?” He glanced at Lola, pulling into a tight hug.

“I recall you mentioning that…” Anna commented. “What happened again? I didn’t stick around to listen at the time because of work. I’m always in charge of the reports for these missions.” The boss seemed to like her writing for some God awful reason.

"Five years ago we were betrayed and the village was attacked" Lyle replied staring off into the distance before pointing at Juliet and Kent " we lost some people." Moving his fingers he pointed to Susi and Haven "some of us were captured. Spent my time afterwards hunting down those responsible, their deaths were not quick."

Anna was quiet as she listened, nodding. She never spoke much about how she was brought to MegaCorp or even how she had gotten into her current position. It had taken a lot of training and proof of loyalty to convince them. She hated working for them, but the cat meta had to survive somehow.

“That’s horrible…” Fang said, suddenly holding Lola closer. “MegaCorp is sick…”

Lyle nodded " after I got my revenge tried ending it all when that didn't work Riley asked for help finding Susi and Haven it's why I joined back up."

“So, you’re like an undercover cop?” Fang inquired.

"In a way yes we needed a way to find Tartarus and with my background Megacorp was eager to take me back" Lyle admitted "of course meeting Anna was a blessing." Smiling, he scooted closer to her.

Anna frowned and shoved him away, knocking him over before crossing her arms with a huff.

Fang leaned over toward Lola. “The tension between them is so bad, I don’t think even a chainsaw could cut through it…” He whispered and chuckled.

Lyle smirked and sat back down before picking Anna up and hugging her in his lap.

Anna hissed and instantly started squirming, causing her tail to smack him in the face a few times. “What are you doing, human?!”

Both Fang and Lola fell over laughing just as Riven and Abraham arrived with a deer in hand.

"It's called a hug and I'm not letting you go until you calm down and accept my affection" Lyle chuckled keeping the angry cat girl in his arms.

“I refuse to ask,” Abraham muttered as he got to work on the deer so he could cook for them. This was going to be a long week.

Riven chuckled. “Cute, she’s like one of those pissed off house cats.”

“What did you just call me, wolf?!” Anna hissed at Riven. “I will claw your eyes out!”

Lyle picked her up and carried her to another room to calm down. Closing the door with his foot he sat down on a bed with her

"Release me this instant, human!" Anna seethed and pushed at his chest and face. Her wild hair hid her face and the blue hue of a blush that was upon her cheeks. The more she struggled, the more it unraveled the robes she wore, revealing the leotard she wore. It had a deep v-neck that showed off her cleavage and some nasty scars. The stomach area was open as well and there was even a spot in the back for her tail. Without legs to the leotard, she was wearing a pair of black lace thigh highs and a pair of boots.

"That's a very sexy choice of clothing" Lyle thought to himself before shaking his head "not until you're actually honest with yourself and me. I trust you and I want to know how the actual you feels not the hard ass that you had to be to protect yourself." Looking into her eyes he pinned her down showing how serious he was.

The moment he pinned her down, Anna's knee shot up between his legs. "No one dominates me!" She seethed, attempting to pull her wrists free.
