JP - Looking for Tzeitel Before she gets Drunk

From Klaire: ‘Should probably check where there’s alcohol then…’

‘I’m checking the gym first because it’s the closest. I hope she’s working out.’ Frisk texted Klaire as she arrived at the gym.

From Klaire: ‘I’m heading inside to help you find her.’

‘I don’t see her in the gym, shit, your call about the alcohol was probably right.’ Frisk texted after quickly checking the gym and the locker room.

Klaire caught up to Frisk. “Then we’ll find her…” She said, ears twitching with concern.

“They keep some beer in the kitchen, but the strong stuff is in the cellar.” Frisk sighed. “I was planning on keeping a closer eye on her when she was here.”

Klaire’s ears twitched again. “I hear Cody…and he sounds very angry.” She said.

"He has probably lost his patience." Frisk groaned.

“Probably…” Klaire gripped her gun in discomfort. “He’s had to watch Ami when she cried every time…”

Frisk looked at Klaire and her gun. "What are you planning on doing with that?"

“Hm?” Klaire blinked and looked at her gun. “Oh, sorry, habit…” She slung it onto her shoulder, gripping the strap now. The safety was on, but she understood Frisk’s concern.

“I know you’re frustrated with Tzeitel but a gun isn’t the best tool.” Frisk said dryly, heading down the stairs.

“I was not planning to use it on her! I’m just used to carrying it everywhere now because we’ve been on the run for five years straight!” Klaire said through a sigh and followed Frisk.

“Yeah, it’s a habit that kept you alive for five years.” Frisk said. “All of you have been through a lot.”

Klaire nodded, only stopping when she began to actually hear the words being spoken between Cody and Tzeitel.

Frisk stopped when she realized that Klaire had stopped. “What is it?”

“Cody isn’t just angry, Frisk…” Klaire replied and grabbed the woman, pulling her aside as Cody walked past them. The look on his face was both of hurt and anger.

“Cody!” Frisk called after the healer.

Cody only stopped for a moment to look at her. “What?” He asked, trying to keep his voice steady. “She wants to be a fucking drunkard, let her! I’m done trying!”

“Cody!” Ami said in a small voice, her face tearstained.

Frisk’s heart sank and she scooped Ami up in a hug, even though Ami had grown so much it was almost like scooping Klaire up in a hug. Ami didn’t have any guns on her though.

Cody stared at Ami and closed his eyes, calming himself down before walking over to them. “I’m sorry, Ami…” He said, voice sincere and honest. “I don’t want to upset you, but…I’ve been keeping myself together all this time and she’s just…just…” He sighed, shoulders falling in defeat. “I don’t know what to do.”

Klaire frowned and shoved her gun into Cody’s hands. “Don’t. Use. It.” She ordered and went to find Tzeitel.

“Do you know how much she drank?” Frisk asked Cody, rubbing Ami’s back as the girl sobbed.

Cody held the gun by the strap like he’d been taught and gently stroked Ami’s hair in a comforting manner. “Not any…yet.” He said. “Though, if she gets her way, she’ll be blackout drunk by the end of the night…”

“Well, she won’t be getting her way tonight.” Frisk said. “She’s going to be watched and kept sober if I have to sit on her.”

Ami hiccuped.

Cody stared at Frisk and blinked a few times. “You do realize she’s stronger than you now, right? James would have better luck…though he’s trying to avoid her like she’s got the plague these days…”

“I’ll enlist some others for help.” Frisk said.

Cody nodded and looked at Ami. “Want me to take her? I can get us a room set up…we’ll stay here to support Tzeitel…” He explained.

Frisk nodded, setting Ami down. Ami sniffled and clutched Cody’s hand.

“I’ll go find Tzeitel.” Frisk said, “I just need to follow the yelling.”
