JP - Milk and Cookies
Ami walked with Cody. “I hope there are oreos here.”
“We’ll find out,” Cody said with a smile and went to the kitchen, bugging everyone he could until he got Ami some oreos and milk.
Ami cheered up when she saw the Oreos. The pheromones had worn off by then and she was still worried about Tzeitel and Colt… but they were Oreos! Real Oreos, not store brand or even Hydrox.
“Thanks,” Cody said to the kitchen staff as he got Ami to the dining area and let her sit down so she could enjoy them. “I wish I knew what to do, but Colt and Tzeitel probably have to figure this out themselves…”
Ami dunked her Oreos. “Do you think Leimomi could fix it?”
“Maybe she can talk to them both, but I don’t know. It’s up to them, really.” Cody said, enjoying the oreos with her.
Ami sighed. But the Oreos were really good and she could not stay down with so many Oreos at her disposal.
Cody smiled, happy to see Ami enjoying the oreos. “Happy to see you enjoying your snack, Ami. You deserve happy things.”
“You both do” a tired voice spoke revealing itself to be Mark entering the room.
“Hi Mark.” Ami greeted.
“Hey, Mark,” Cody greeted with Ami. “You okay? You look tired…”
“The riots in NYC right now have us putting out plenty of fires right now” Mark yawned.
“They’re anti-metas, aren’t they?” Ami asked. People who wanted to catch them, hurt them, kill them.
“Yeah so we’ve had to relocate a lot of our resources and people throughout the city” Mark sighed.
“Why do they have to be like this?” Ami had tried using her powers to figure it out, and couldn’t make sense of it.
"Because people make no sense…" Cody sighed heavily.
“Why can’t they just go after the bad ones?” Ami asked. “Most of us are good.”
"Sadly some people are blind by hatred so they don't see the good from the bad" Mark replied "That's why the underground exists to help us make a better tomorrow."
“Yeah, too bad the underground can’t seem to help Colt and Tzeitel…” Cody grumbled.
Ami nodded unhappily.
"I already spoke to Leimomi about clearing her schedule for them," Mark replied.
“I see…” Cody was still doubtful about them.
Ami’s fingers itched to use her powers until she could find the answers to all their problems.
“We should probably make sure she’s okay,” Cody said to Ami.
“She isn’t okay.” Ami said. “She was already having a hard time… now she’s probably freaking out over Colt.”
“Then lets go find her…” Cody got up.
"Need a hand?" Mark offered.
“I don’t know.” Ami was not sure what she and Cody would do.
“Yes, I think we can use all the help we can get at this point.” Cody said stiffly. “Mom has become extremely self-destructive…”
"I know where to check" he sighed leading them to where they stored the alcohol.
Ami followed Mark worriedly.
Cody walked next to Ami, that same worry she felt written on his face.
