JP - Five Years Ago - Through the Portal - VC pt 4

The moment the door blew into the cabin in splinters, it would be obvious no one was in the cabin. There was a strange portal, though…

"The fuck?" Colt growled.

Tzeitel followed Colt inside and stared at the portal. "What the fuck is that?"

“That is a portal to Cain’s hive area, I believe.” Annie said as she stepped inside after Tzeitel. “If you and Colt wish to go through in order to find the kids and Megan, I will stay here and guard the portal so none of them can escape without your notice.”

“Sounds like a plan to me,” Colt replied and looked at Tzeitel. “You ready to go kill a motherfucker? I heard Megan screaming just before that explosion at the Main House.”

"Megan was screaming?" Once upon a time Megan was mute but she was very outspoken with ASL and writing notes. She got her voice through some surgery, but then she hooked up with Cain and became so quiet. Tzeitel could tell that Megan was not happy the first time Cain kidnapped Cody but seemed reluctant to stand up to him. Cain went too far this time, it sounded like Megan had enough too. Tzeitel hoped she and the kids were okay. "Yeah let's kill that fucker and get my kids back."

Colt smiles, always proud of Tzeitel and her love for the kids. Taking her hand, he stepped through the portal. It felt extremely uncomfortable and as if something was trying to keep them from getting through, but he kept his grip on her hand and got them through, where they stepped into what looked like a decrepit town. “Where the hell are we?” He muttered.

That’s when they heard Megan’s scream.

The sound of Megan's scream made Tzeitel feel cold. Megan did not sound angry, she sounded scared and hurt. Tzeitel had screamed like that before and remembering made Tzeitel feel sick to her stomach. She started running towards where the scream was coming from.

Colt gladly followed Tzeitel, his ears helping him steer them in the correct direction. Any time some hive monster got close his wind would cut it down. “Get to Megan! I’ll keep these fuckers back and hopefully find Cody and Ami!”

More hive creatures came toward Colt, hissing and snarling, only to be cut down as another scream could be heard from Megan. It was followed by a familiar voice…

“Stop hurting her!” Cody’s voice was angry, furious - he had never sounded this way. “If you hurt Ami I’ll cut your fucking balls off, Cain!”

"Cain! Let my kids go NOW!" Tzeitel screamed as she charged towards the sounds of Megan's screaming and Cody's voice. Her arms itched and she shed her jacket.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Ami was still rendered unconscious by the anesthesia gel still smeared on her arms and face.

Cody was being held away from both Ami and Megan by one of those things, eyes glaring at Cain. The look in his eyes was like that of murder, pure hatred in them for once.

Megan, however, was held down and continually being hurt. No matter what she did, no matter how much she clawed and fought and screamed, Cain let the monsters hurt her. She beat at them, screaming each time as tears fell down her face.

"Your screaming is very distracting Megan, and it obviously isn't going to make us stop." Cain said snootily. "We don't know why you're still screaming, you should be used to it by now." Tzeitel did not deserve a response, hysterical woman. He frowned at Cody. "That is no way to speak to us."

It had taken some time and plenty of bodies but Riley finally caught up to Tzeitel, his face going stone cold at the sight of Megan. "I'll get Megan, you know what to do."

Colt also caught up, eyes widening at the sight of his sister being used and hurt so horribly. “Make him suffer, Tzeitel…” He growled and sliced up the hive beasts holding onto Cody.

The teen was thankful and ran right over to Ami. “Ami, Ami! Are you okay?” Cody asked as he gently patted her cheek. Something about him seemed different and his father, the kind man he had been, was lying to the side, stone cold dead. There was no time to mourn, though. All he could focus on was protecting his sister.

Ami still had a lot of that anesthetizing gel in her system and on her skin, which she was continuing to absorb. She did not wake up.

“Fuck,” Cody growled and pulled off his jacket so he take off his t-shirt and started wiping all the gel he could off of Ami with it. “Fucker, if this kills her…” The anger was boiling again, rising inside him.

Ami’s eyes flickered open. “C-Cody? What’s happening?”

Working to get the rest of the gel off her, Cody answered, “A lot of bad things, Ami. Just stay close, okay?” He instructed and pulled his jacket back on, tossing the shirt. There was no way he was keeping that after what he had to wipe off of Ami with it. “Come on,” He gently picked her up and held her close, looking toward the others.

“Where are we?” Ami asked, so confused. She looked around, stiffening in fear.

Cody basically used his own body as a shield for Ami, glancing around with her. “I’m not sure…but it’s not home.” He answered and took her to Tzeitel.
