JP- The great escape 2

Bronte drove as fast as he dared. He was not sure where he was going, just away from these monsters. What he did to that girl. What that woman did to him… He shuddered, pressing down on the accelerator.

Bella whimpered loudly, not liking how fast they were going. She tried to figure out the belt buckles, but being a dog…it didn’t go well.

Bronte saw a truckstop coming up ahead. He slowed down slightly.

Bella let out a soft bark at Bronte, wanting to know where they were going, but he probably didn’t understand that. She adjusted herself on the seat, broken leg aching.

Bronte spotted something rare and at the moment valuable- a payphone. He got the car as close to the payphone as he could, grabbed some change from the ashtray, stuck the coins into the phone then dialed Delilah’s number.

Delilah looked at her phone, confused, but answered. “Hello?”

“Delilah- HELP!” Bronte wailed. “I got away but they’re going to come after me! I got the dog girl but they still have that other girl- I think she’s a baseline- HELP!”

“Calm down, Bronte!” Delilah said, keeping her voice calm. “Where are you? Do you have any landmarks or signs?!”

“I’m at a truck stop.” Bronte said. “Please HELP. The water woman- she-she…” He was sobbing too hard to speak.

“Just try to calm down, Bronte. I’ll be there as soon as I can.” Delilah replied and was already ordering someone to do something, heading out with them. “We’re coming for you…”

Bella looked at Bronte from her seat and took a moment to make her way to him. Like any puppy trying to comfort their owner, she licked his hand and whined, worry in her eyes.

Bronte awkwardly patted Bella on the head, still sobbing. “I’m on a payphone. I-I didn’t know they st-still existed.”

“Some do,” Delilah said as she listened to him. “Tell me any details around you.” She was trying to keep him talking, distracted.

Bronte still sobbed but managed to read the signs he could see to Delilah. “I-I couldn’t get to the g-girl to save her.”

“It’s okay, Bronte,” Delilah told him. “I’m coming with some of the crew to get you. Just let me get Frisk real quick, okay?”

Bella nuzzled into Bronte, trying to comfort him any way she could.

“Okay…” Bronte whimpered, afraid to hang up.

Delilah could be heard yelling for Frisk to get her ass in the helicopter before there was a lot of noise from said helicopter.

Poor Frisk had passed out asleep after Delilah stopped texting her, and was barely awake and confused as she ran to the helicopter.

Bronte shivered.

“I’m sorry about this, but we really need you to come help!” Delilah said over the helicopter as she helped Frisk get buckled in properly. They would soon be flying off to help Bronte, praying they’d make it in time.

“Isn't it all just apatosaurus?” Frisk grumbled, feeling like she was getting too old for this.

“What?” Delilah asked.

“Brontosaurus never existed, it was just an apatosaurus that someone wanted to make a new species of dinosaur.” Frisk yawned. “Couldn’t we just drive to a coffee place?”

“We’re in a helicopter…” Delilah sighed as they started to get close to where Bronte was.

“No shit.” Frisk said. “Where are we going again?”

"To help Bronte," Delilah answered as she looked out to see how close they were.

“Oh yeah… that poor guy.” Frisk woke up. “So it sounds like this Canestone clone is just like the original.”

"Canestone will never change." Delilah growled as she prepared her shotgun and the grenade launcher she always took on missions. "I'll make the swallow grenades…"

“He was cloned for an experiment to determine if its genetic or how someone is raised that makes someone like Canestone, one of the clones was implanted with Canestone’s memories and the other wasn’t… The one with his memories will basically be Canestone.” Frisk said. “They were wondering if the one without Canestone’s memories would be normal… Huge fucking mistake to clone him with or without his memories.”

“Agreed,” Delilah replied and looked out of the helicopter, worried about how long it was taking them to get there.

“Sorley has half of Canestone’s DNA and couldn’t be less like his father… I’m still wary of both of Canestone’s clones.” Frisk also looked out the window in impatience.

Delilah nodded in agreement and once they arrived, all they found was Bronte’s empty car. “...DAMN IT! FUCKING DAMN IT!” She kicked a nearby trash can so hard it went bouncing away.

A busybody called 911 to report a disturbance at Delilah kicking the trash can.

Frisk cursed too.
