JP - Good Samaritan get caught
“Bronte? BRONTE?!” Delilah yelled. “Are you okay?! What happened?!”
Bella yelped as she went flying back into her seat and almost out the window.
The car fishtailed as Bronte braked hard.
Bella was yelping louder as she tried to grab onto anything, claws digging into the car seat the best she could before she went flying out of the car. Hitting the ground, she rolled a bit and started to get up. She had no clue she was in the middle of the road or that she was bleeding from the fresh scrapes.
All she knew was that her left leg was hurting and it was hurting very badly. Whimpering, she tried to look around for help.
Bronte finally got the car stopped on the side of the road. He picked up his phone. “Oh no, the dog girl looks hurt… she almost killed us both.” He straightened his glasses.
“How?!” Delilah sighed heavily. “You know what, I don’t wanna know. Just…take care of yourself and her and get the hell out of there if you can. Riley’s on his way.”
Bronte got out of the car and went over to Bella to at least get her out of the road. “Her leg is broken!”
“Shit!” Delilah replied. “Get her out of the road. I’m sure Riley can help when he arrives…” But would he arrive in time?
Bronte put the phone and speaker and slipped it in his pocket so he would have both hands free as he tried to gently move Bella out of the road.
Bella whimpered and tried to help him by moving on her good leg, but all she did was keep falling, tears falling down her face.
Bronte finally just picked her up in his arms and gently carried her to the side of the road. He could hear a car coming and hoped it was Riley. He needed help. “I got her out of the road, I think Riley is coming, I hear a car.”
“A car?” Delilah asked. “No, Riley is running…”
Coral looked out at the side of the road. “Oh, that cutie is holding Bella!” She said, pointing.
“Oh, probably just some driver- hey, they’re slowing. Oh shit!” Bronte yelled.
Clonestone saw the man holding his dog and swung the car at him, braking just short of hitting him. He jumped out of the car, his skin going hard.
“Hey, don’t you dare touch him! He’s mine!” Coral splashed down in front of Bronte and quickly, but gently, took Bella from him. “You are sooooo adorable!” She giggled and handed Bella to Clonestone before grabbing Bronte and wrapping him up in water that solidified into ice from the neck down.
“Hey! Let me go!” Bronte yelped, panicking.
Clonestone gently put Bella in the car. “The fucker broke Bella’s leg, she needs a vet.”
“No, I don’t think I will.” Coral looked in the other car as her water pulled Bronte’s phone from his pocket and tossed it into the forest. “You’re coming with us! Hey, we could switch to this guy’s car!”
Bella whimpered and stared at her leg, unsure of how they were going to fix this or even get her to a vet. She turned that gaze to Bronte, silently apologizing for dragging him into this.
Clonestone went over to Bronte’s car. In his hurry he had left the keys in the ignition. Clonestone popped the trunk open and tossed the unnecessary junk on the road. He gently transferred Bella to the front passenger seat and secured her with a seatbelt. Then he grabbed the girl from the trunk of his car and dumped her into the trunk. “You can either squeeze him in here with mine or have fun with him in the backseat.”
Bronte looked at the dog girl, then he watched in horror as Clonestone put the girl in his own trunk. “I have help coming.”
“Backseat, duh!” Coral smirked as she made Bronte sit in the backseat, hopping in with him. She had grabbed some of the rope and duct tape from the other trunk and used it to keep Bronte secured before buckling him in. While on the road, she would torment him by telling him all the things she was planning to do, making sure to duct tape his mouth shut. “Such a cutie!”
Bella bit at the seatbelt in discomfort.
Bronte tried to scream against the duct tape in his mouth, echoing the cries from the trunk.
“I need to get one of those phones, look up vets in the area.” Clonestone muttered, following signs to a big box store.
“Okie dokie,” Coral said and made Bronte lie down so no one would see him.
Bella tried to lean and sit on her right side so she wouldn’t hurt her left, more tears falling down her face as she whimpered more and more. It was hurting so much…
Clonestone parked in a wooded area a mile from the store. He gave Bella one of her pills in a biscuit then began walking to the store. He would return about half an hour later with a cheap smartphone which he plugged into the car’s charger. He continued driving north, reaching over to scratch Bella behind the ears to comfort her. “Don’t worry Bella, I’ll find you a vet who will make you all better. And Coral will make that fucker pay for breaking your leg.”
Coral pat the top of Bronte’s head. “Oh, I will…” She giggled sadistically.
Bella didn’t even care that there was a pill in the biscuit when her teeth crunched on it. She just swallowed it because she knew it would take the pain away a bit. Her leg was bent at a very odd angle and she couldn’t look at it, embarrassed and ashamed that she had been dumb enough to get herself hurt and Bronte in trouble. Now she had two people to help with no clue how to do so.
Once the phone had enough of a charge, Clonestone pulled over and activated it. He used the phone to look up local veterinarians. “Here’s a vet less than a mile away.” Clonestone said, turning the car around to go to the address.
Bronte struggled feebly. There was no escape.
