JP - The Keep - Dining Hall - Ginger Tea

Alex gave Miyuki a pat on the shoulder as they sat down at the table with the others.

“I just want to be your friend and help you.” Lek said softly.

Miyuki shifted in place and finally had to stand. "The food is not agreeing with my stomach. Excuse me." She said quickly and slipped away, disappearing outside.

Beatrix sighed heavily. "Poor woman is hittin' them stages where that baby ain't gonna eat anythang but what it wants." She said and looked at Lek. "Why don't ya go and help hold her hair back fer her?"

Lek nodded and hurried after Miyuki. He found her and gently pulled her hair back from her face.

Just when he got her hair out of the way, Miyuki had to empty her stomach. One hand pressed to the baby bump while the other pressed to the wall she was next to. After she was done and breathing raggedly, she pulled out a napkin and wiped her mouth clean. “T-thanks…” She said in a shaky voice.

"Let's get you some water." Lek said. "And some ginger tea." His mother had three children after Lek and Millie, he was familiar with this sort of thing.

Miyuki nodded slowly and headed back inside with him. She no longer had an appetite, but water and ginger tea sounded nice.

"You alright?" Alex asked as she sat back down " I could look into anti nausea spells."

Lek got Miyuki a glass of fresh water, and asked Ila if she could get some hot water and ginger from the kitchen. He brought Miyuki the water.

“I’m not sure that would work…since it’s the baby.” Miyuki grumbled and took the water. “Thank you, Lek…”

“Ginger tea helped my mother when she was expecting.” Lek said. “I hope it can help you.”

"What would help is if you pulled your head out of your ass and see the beautiful girl in front of you" Alex thought to himself as he focused on eating.

Beatrix just watched while eating, stabbing her food rather violently.

Miyuki nodded and drank the water while they waited for the tea. She had to look away from him, trying to hide her blush with her hair.

When the ginger and hot water arrived, Lek let it seep for several minutes. He poured a cup for Miyuki and offered it to her.

Miyuki slowly drank it, glancing at Beatrix and Alex. The looks in their eyes were a bit worrisome to her.

Lek tried to not stare at Miyuki. He hoped the ginger tea helped to settle her stomach.

Alex reached over and took Beatrix’s hand giving it a squeeze.

Once done with the tea, Miyuki put on that forced smile again. "That helped, thank you." She said before making a hasty escape and heading for the building where the medical rooms were.

Beatrix squeezed his hand back and looked worried.

Bella would finally walk in and make a beeline for the food. She felt as ravenous for food as Piritta.

"Do you want to check on her afterwards?" Alex whispered.

Ferrus was right behind Bella, his hair a mess.

Lek watched Miyuki leave, feeling like the worst person in the world.

“I need ta check on Pinja, so two birds with one stone, I say.” Beatrix replied and looked at Lek, but chose to let him feel how he felt.

Jacob waved at Ferrus happily.

Ferrus waved as he grabbed himself and Bella a plate before sitting down at the table. “What did we miss?” he asked Jacob.

Beatrix looked at Lek, getting fed up. “Ya gonna do something or just stand there an’ feel bad all day?” She asked.

Jacob pulled Ferrus and Bella aside, telling them everything that has transpired lately.

Lek cringed. “What can I do?” He asked Beatrix.

Ferrus winced as Jacob filled them in everyone had learned quickly not to be on Beatrix's bad side.

Jacob looked toward Lek, Alex and Beatrix. “Yeah…he’s in trouble. Sis ain’t very happy with him, but she’s tryin’ ta be nice. How’ve ya been, Mr. Ferrus?”

Bella was nuzzling into Ferrus next to him, holding onto their plates as if it were nothing.

Beatrix raised an eyebrow and chuffed, shaking her head. “Ya should eat or ya will make yerself sick, Lek. For now, just try ta get some food down. Feeling horrible about yerself ain’t gonna do any good. Ya gotta think thangs through and figure it out.”

"Doing good Bella's been helping me with the long range patrols." Ferrus replied leaning over to kiss the top of the head. "Her skills have been extremely helpful plus it's nice to get out of the castle since we both enjoy long walks."

Lek’s shoulders slumped and he picked at his food.
