Stranger On A Cliff

JP with Winteroak and Cindy

Later that evening as the day came to a close Malacost made is way into the cave Hunter and Islana camped the previous night.

It had not been hard to follow their trail. 1 overburden horse carrying two injured people and god's know how much equipment.

He scouted the area for signs of his prey but all he found was the vestige of a recently used camp and some small bones. Probably a meal of some sorts. They were long gone. Probably still a day ahead of him. He decided not to much any further this evening. He would camp here. And tomorrow at first light he would continue to follow the tracks that led further into the mountain.

But speed was of the essence. He did not have to deal with the clansmen or any further brigands on his own.

Malacost tied his horse to a nearby bush after feeding his mare and set out his camp. He would continue at dawn.

Several miles ahead Islana and Hunter were close to the next Caravanserai that had once been part of the network of forts that crisscrossed the mountains. However unlike the Maru fort this one was completely razed to the ground. Its majestic walls crumbled and now no note than a huge pile of rumble in the middle of the next canyon.

As the light fades and you search for a place to camp you see a light of a campfire ahead in one of the cliffs.

The Caravanserai they had been at had been intriguing and mysterious but this one seemed more of a dedication to destruction.

Islana kept moving as she glanced for a place to camp. A light shone in distance. A camp fire.

Stopping River, the huntress glanced around there seemed to be no threats that she could see.

They couldn't keep going much further, there needed to be time to hunt, look for more ingredients, daylight was in short supply. Perhaps they wouldn't find an perfect place. Eventually, they just needed to set up camp.

Once Hunter was situated and River taken care of, Islana with Kaithak flying overhead, went off to hunt. She didn't excately like that they weren't alone but maybe nothing bad would happen.

Islana continued to search for what they needed. However, the light from the campfire kept eating at her. The young woman had to know if whoever it was was a threat.

Making her way towards the cliff, she moved carefully trying to not be heard. Steading her bow with her injuries was getting harder by the day so, she got the spear ready instead, just in case and tried to get a look at who was in the cliff.
