Search For A Remedy Begins
JP with Winteroak and Cindy
Islana left Hunter in the nearby cave wondering if she could find the ingredients needed.
She had grown and lived in forests so she could forage. This was a different environment. She knew Bitterweed blade grew near pools of water or streams. To find honey she would have to find signs of bees and that could take a long time. Mushrooms on the other hand were dangerous to mess with if you didn't know what you were picking.
So much had happened in a short period of time that all she could do was put one foot in front of the other. Her secret was out now. And she knew the bounty hunter would come for her.
She heard a screeching high above her and sense the presence of the falcon in the skies above. If only she could fly away from all of this.
The screeching caused the young hunteress to look up. Kaithak had made it, and seemed fine. That was a relief, even if a small one given the circumstances.
Thank you for your help. A message sent to the falcon. I don't suppose you could find your way back to Maru Caravanserai.
On second thought, even if the falcon could get back there, it was doubtful anyone could really find them and they were all busy trying to find Voah and Tarmen, she didn't want to split the effort. Islana wasn't even sure anyone would be there. Maybe, later. No stay
There were mushrooms but none were the right ones. Her gaze caught some water but she couldn't find the bitterweed blade. There was no sign of bees.
Stopping for a moment, the huntress took some deep breaths and then continued. It was just a matter of pushing through everything.
Her stomach didn't feel like eating at all but Islana knew the energy was needed so, she pulled out a piece of jerky and ate it slowly. It didn't sit well, the young woman only managed half of it and some water. A nauseous feeling swept over her but she managed to keep it down. That was a good sign, right?
The bounty hunter had seen her power. Whether it be to take her to Lord Vasant or to the Inquistion, he was headed for her and Hunter. The young woman wasn't sure what would be the worse fate.
The bounty hunter was an issue himself. He was clearly sadistic. The man enjoyed tormenting and torturing them. What would he do, knowing her secret, if he caught them.
Hunter now knew her secret as well, what happened if they ever got back to their friends. Would he tell Voah? It was a scenario Islana had wanted to avoid. Yet, she didn't regret that he knew as it had been the only way to get Hunter out of there.
Omen's vision plaqued her, as what had happened wasn't exactly what she had been shown. A bad feeling came over her, that this was far from over.
With light fading fast all Islana could do was maybe find some food for her and Hunter. Refill her water skin. She gathered some leaves she knew helped with pain and bruising when made into a tea. Tomorrow they would have to continue their journey. They had to formulate a plan or strategy.
