A Break In The Chase

JP: with Jaxx and Cindy

Hunter almost fell off the horse since he lacked his motor skills. Luckily his body was so relaxed he didn't take much damage. A few bruises were better than broken bones any day. He was facing the ground till Islana managed to roll him over to face the sky. Sadly he knew he would be stuck like this for a while till the poison burned through his body. He also knew he was gonna be in a lot of pain when he could move again. He was really pissed off right now that the old trickster got a lucky scratch in. Next time he met the old bounty hunter he was going to turn him into a human pincushion.

Ironically being paralyzed gave one a lot of time to think since there was nothing else to do. Hunter now had more secrets to keep. Islana could influence animals which made her a target as a witch by the church. The old Voah would have her killed but Hunter knew that Voah lost her need to kill all witches now if they did not pose a threat. This was also a new secret he would have to keep since Wim told him a new threat was coming their way and war was following them. His life was getting more complicated by the day. On the brightside he didn't have to worry about Cora any more since she sold him out he could cut ties with her with no obligations. He was now questioning if he had terrible luck with women.

Islana had found an area, near a stream to stop. She helped Hunter as much as she could. Then went to the cold clear water, refilled their water skins.

The water was ice cold and the young woman put her injured arm in it. Holding it there for a few moments. It did help a little. Islana kind of wished she could put her whole body in there at the moment.

Drinking some of the water helped her stomach. After she had done what she could to help her own injuries, the woman went back by Hunter. She slowly sat down.

Green eyes glanced towards the man laying on the ground. He now knew about her abilities, but that wasn't the first thing on her mind. She spoke softly, "I'm sorry, I got you into this."

Hunter was still lying helpless on the ground. He was glad Islana propped him up to let him drink water but he was still under the effects of being paralyzed and still recovering. He chuckled at her comment as he replied, "He was after both of us. My past owner pinned the blame on me for the death of his daughter. I know way to much so he can't afford to let me live." Hunter chuckled then spoke up again, "What are the odds we are both wanted and hunted by the same bounty hunter?"

"So, your's wants you dead and mine, unfortunately, wants me very much alive. I'm of no use to him dead." The idea of it still sent a shiver up her spine.

"That is quite the coincidence." So, the bounty hunter was after both of them. "I guess the good thing is we probably got that psychopath away from our friends."

What was it with crazy men being after her? Lord Vasant, Pig Head Preacher and now this bounty hunter, who seemed to enjoy the torturing a little too much.

Hunter chuckled then replied, "Looks like you have the same problem I do."

"I suppose," Islana knew very little about Hunter and Hunter, she assumed, very little about her. She pondered the question before asking. "To completely paraphrase Gonyaul, I'll tell you my story if you tell me yours."

It might just be easier to help each other if they knew what they were up against. Of course, Hunter didn't have to share anything more with her if he didn't want to.

The young woman rubbed her arm and slid under a nearby tree. She leaned against it, which gave her back more support but it still didn't feel good.
