Escaping

JP: with Jaxx, Winteroak and Cindy

The stomp to her stomach came hard and fast. Making her back rise up slightly only to fall back down.

Islana was terrified of what Alcuin was about to do to her. Terrified to go back to Vasant. She was desperate to get both Hunter and herself out of there.

She needed help, and out of options, something came over her. There was no closing her eyes, no time to concentrate, just desperation and fear.

Help me, Kaithak.

Hearing the falcon before it started to decend on its prey.

Malacost was about to stomp on the helpless young woman again when he saw her eyes flash green. He blinked and hesitated of a heartbeat before the realisation dawned on him.
"Witch..." He spat.

Kaithak came at full speed, right at Malacost's head. It pecked and hit Malacost with it's claws. The bounty hunter was taken by surprise as he tried to get away from the bird.

Islana though wasn't free of the man, yet. Her whole body hurt, she was surely injured but couldn't stop to assess that at the moment. The young woman also felt like she could throw up at any moment.

The falcon kept at the man, forcing Malacost to move off of Islana. It took the young woman a moment to realize he was no longer on top of her.

Mustering adreline from out of nowhere, the woman attempted to get up again. This time she managed. Which only made clear how much her back hurt. That wasn't even the concerning part, that was more the way her left arm and stomach felt.

Having no choice but to ignore her injures, she made it to Hunter. "I'm going to try to help you up."

Glancing back towards the man she knew as Alcuin and Kaithak, the falcon was doing an excellent job but needed help and they needed more time to get away.

Her eyes flashed again, a message sent to Alcuin's horse first. Run away The horses hadn't been staked and took off.

Islana had only tried it out of fear and desperation but if that worked, then maybe. Attack

The huntress sent Hunter's horse after Alcuin. Islana didn't want to sacrifice either Kaithak or Hunter's horse but she was desperate and Hunter's horse couldn't run. As for Kaithak, well, she didn't have time to think on it. They had to get out of there.

The young woman, put her right arm around Hunter's back and used whatever strength she could muster to help the man up.

Hunter was surprised by what he saw and when Islana was helping him up he used what little strength he had to work with her.

Once Hunter was standing, her next message was sent to River. Come

The palomino made it's way over, stopping in front of them. How was she going to get Hunter on the horse?

"I need to get you on the horse. I'm not sure how. Hopefully, we can get you up there together."

Hunter was having trouble talking at this point since he was using all his strength to stand up.

Malacost swatted at the bird with his hands and knife. He felt his head spinning from the impact. As he was preoccupied with his winged attacker a horse reared up in front of him, trying to hit him with its front hooves. The bounty hunter rolled to the side across the floor trying to put distance between him and the crazed animal.

Somehow he knew she was doing this. That dirty little witch. Nothing much surprised Malacost in life but he had not expected this revelation.

Then Hunter managed to grab the reins over the saddle and used it to pull him over the saddle on his stomach so he was dangling on his stomach.

In panic mode, Islana didn't think of it at first but watching Hunter lay there, she said down to River who lowered himself.

Islana pushed Hunter up, moving the man's right leg over the other side. He was now leaned over but at least in a better position. She then told River to rise . Islana looked over Kaithak still had Malacost busy and Hunter's horse was making it's way over there.

Islana had to be quick, she couldn't grab much. Hunters pack and her own, came first. Islana got on the back of River, felt her injured left arm and back give way, as the pain shot through her.

The young huntress needed her bow but if she got off, could she get back on River? Stopping near her bow she. The young woman was able to get it but barely.

"Hold on," she said to Hunter, and the two took off.

The young huntress wasn't thinking of a direction, just went as fast as they could away from the man that was after, from Islana's knowledge, her.

Hunter was feeling like a jellyfish as he was wiggling around with no control. If Islana was not holding onto him he would have fallen off the horse long ago. He did his best to tell which way to go but his words slurred a lot.

After putting enough of a distance between them and Malacost, Islana slowed River down and then stopped. Her stomach was not enjoying this.

Getting off the horse, she got down despite the pain, proceeded to throw up. Having no idea how she held it in until then. Then got back on River.

Looking around, they hadn't run in the direction of Maru. Which at first thought wasn't great but thinking more on it, if there was one bounty hunter, there was likely more.

Islana didn't think going back to Maru, to her friends was wise, as that was where other bounty hunters would look for her now that one has found her. Maybe, it was best they had gone in a different direction. Besides, turning back now would put them back on that man's path.

Hunter mumbled to Islana, "Nesss tym I see dat foo....Ima gwnna keel 'em."

Hunter was talking, well, mumbling. Did that mean whatever had been given to him was wearing off? Islana hoped so.

"He'll be all yours."

Hunter mumbled, "Tanx".

There was even one more concern, River had been working all day and would need a rest. They wouldn't be able to keep going forever.

At least, Islana knew the bounty hunter's horse had run away. That gave them sometime to let River rest and to determine what to do.

"If I stop for a few minutes, do you think you could get off and back on my horse?"

Islana would help him, she'd just ignore the pain in her arm and back until she couldn't any longer but the young woman was debating how long that would be.
