Growing Concerns in the Dark
Jp with Lucian, Omni, and Winteroak
Looking at Voah squirming around from foot to foot the woman grabbed her and took her to one of the far corners of the cave. One of the men followed behind after the woman barked some order. While he pointed his spear at Voah's throat the woman undid her bonds. She than thrust her on spear at the Arbiter as if to say. ~Do your business.~
Clearly in no good position to resist, the Arbiter acquiesced and got into position. There was more relief than embarrassment as she did what she had to do in the darkness of the tunnels.
“Thank you, again.” She said with a sigh of relief.
That could have turned tortuous if she was ushered to move on toward wherever they were going. So… it took two of them to guard her from escaping, meanwhile Tarmen was left with one. Good to know. After exaggerating her new found comfort, Voah showed her wrists for them to put her binds back on and gave a soft smile, looking in the man slightly longer. If she was lucky, it would be done in the front and not behind. She was trying to make herself appear weak and slowly gain some trust in them, or loosen their guard, to take advantage of it later. There was a reason she earned the moniker Siren Swan. Not a name she chose for herself, but she wore it proudly.
Looking at their glowing markings, she wondered if the water could help them fight against these mouldmen…
Voah's wrists were bound again behind her back. Their captors filled in their water skins before turning to the statues and signing homespun charms.
Beyond the Shrine room they descended into a maze of desolate rooms. The darkness became almost liquid, it seemed so deep, and their light became the only air. Crumbled walls reared into view as though squeezed of ink. Doorway after doorway gaped to either side of them, revealing lanes of interior floor, featureless for the dust, swinging in the light of their torchlight. Stone faces watched from the shadows as if the travellers were penitents.
Tarmen was growing curious as to why there had only been three of these natives so far. With all of the structures they passed, it left him wondering where they actually lived and just how many were there.
Another interest of his was their willingness to let them see their surroundings. He had expected a blind or even the total darkness, he assumed they could traverse this place without a torch and that it was simply for their captives benefit.
He far down were they? To be so confident meant that these deep dwellers thought neither of them could escape.
Still not facing Voah, he did voice one question he hoped she could answer.
“What happened to Alexis?”
