Preparations

Alexis was glad she tended to be moderate with her alcohol intake, or the early morning running back and forth would have been much more of a challenge after last night’s festivities.

Now, with Boyce’s and Islana’s first expedition set into motion, it was time for her to find Tarmen and get to work on her part of the deal.

She finally found the man a bit later into the morning.

“Morning. Did you escape a hangover or should I come back later?”

She greeted with a smirk.

Hearing Alexis’s voice, Tarmen was already grinning when he turned to answer.
“Takes more than that to make me hear Vastad’s forge.”
He gestured to follow to his bunk.
“I am gatherin’ supplies. Last time I just had a length of rope, so figured I should be more prepared.”
All he had been able to find so far though was more rope and torches. His mapping kit was laid out on his bed, already showing what path he had taken before.
“So how many are actually goin’?”

“You and me for now, and whoever you can bring. Boyce and Islana get limited time to explore an outpost a bit away, so they are off today. Though I was wondering if we should ask Voah. In case of magikal mumbo jumbo.”

“At least for now, I would value her safety more than her expertise. We still have no idea what the cave actually looks like and based on the island, she lacks skill in traversin’ less civilized terrain.”
Gathering the supplies and checking water next, Tarmen continued without looking at Alexis.
“I was thinkin’ the same though. Would rather not face another imp or somethin’ worse.”
Turning towards her, he gestured towards the settlement.
“Lead the way, you would know better than me where she is.”

Alexis nodded, shouldering her own equipment.

“I‘d assume she‘ll be at her makeshift shrine, close to the mine. We brought some equipment with exploring ruins in mind, and our outpost team isn’t going to need all of it. So we should able to supply her if she is willing to come.”

With that, she took lead towards Voah’s prayer tent.
