Just A Little Patience

After leaving Omen's magical camp Hunter helped Voah make it back to camp despite her frazzled state. Luckily the walk was not to far for them and they made it just in time as the horses were not happy as they were neighing and kicking. Hunter knew right away what was going on as he saw the glowing eyes of a Lugar. He had killed several before on his first trip to meet the locals. They were very large cats that had a camouflage pattern on their pelts which were popular among those who could afford them. Now granted the meat from a Lugar was gross by all standards and would be to much work to make it edible. Hunter was going to deal with more work on top of taking care of Voah. He wasted no time setting Voah down and pulling out his bow and arrow and aimed for the moving Luger's glowing eyes.

After seeing the pattern this Luger was using he released his arrow and heard the scream of the Lugar as it flipped backwards and struggled a bit before it stopped moving. Hunter stayed in his position and patiently watched as the horses were still upset and kicking. Hunter pulled out another arrow and prepared to fire as a second Lugar's eyes twinkled in the dark as it was also reflected by the small campfire they had left. As soon as Hunter had a shot he fired it at the Lugar and once again watched it flail about before it took its last breath. He waited patiently as the horses seemed to calm down before he helped Voah back to camp. His guard was up as he put Voah to rest on the blankets and checked on the horses. Luckily they were not injured during the attack.

Hunter then doubled checked on the dead Lugars before removing his arrows from the eye sockets. He looked at Voah as he spoke, "I'll skin them and then bury them to avoid attracting predators." Then he moved away from the camp a bit with both Lugars as he pulled out his skinning knife and went to work like a surgeon. Since Hunter was used to skinning animals for survival or money these days, it was not difficult work for him. In thirty minutes he had both Lugars skinned and began digging a hole to bury the Lugars. Sadly it took two hours to dig the hole and bury the Lugars. Hunter sighed when he was done and then rubbed the skins in dirt before he went back to Voah and began scraping the skins to remove the excess tissue and muscle. This was going to take a while, but that was a good thing since Voah was resting and he needed to keep busy as he kept the night watch. Since they were going to have to deal with the natives eventually he figured they could use the skins as barter for Voah's plans.
