Into the mine

Aquilo - Iron Mine

Tarmen- The north road leads you to the Odonine iron mine a few hundred metres from Aquilo. The mine's entrance is carved from the side of a hill supported by wooden beams. A massive worn statue in the murky cliff side marks its entrance. It has been eroded by wind, rain and snow so much that you can hardly tell what it once represented. As you make your way deeper and deeper into the mine through a series of shafts, your torch allows you to see rows upon rows of side tunnels from where the iron ore is mined. The stale air reminds you of home.

Further ahead are three paths, you take the left. Its twisted trail leads you downwards and as you descend the poorly excavated tunnel you start to hear a faint noise in the distance, that starts to gradually increase as your guide leads you towards the newly discovered chamber. Soon you have to shout at each other to get yourselves heard over the booming noise.

You eventually make it to what is likely the final mine shaft. A massive granite stone covers the ceiling. Ahead of you the black entrance to the newly found tunnel. The void it leads to is as massive as any you have every seen. Loose pieces of rumble fall and crumble as you approach it. The sound in the distance is unmistakable and the rush of fresh air that greats you as you peer into the dark tunnel confirms your suspicion. Somewhere ahead a huge body of water runs through the darkness.
