Waiting for the “boss”
Timestamp: Tavern, Aquilo
Wim was eager to get the road dust out of his mouth. He did not care how bad the drink was because his mouth felt like he had licked his horses tail doe the two days. The big cat that followed them did not help the horse or him. This town with the amount of noise would keep the cats at a distance.
As he entered the place the smell of male unwashed bodies and spilled alcohol hit him like a sledge to the nose. A miner came flying at the door heading to the street being ejected by a man figured was either the owner or a bouncer. He was a man who walked with a slight limp. To the right we’re two men at what would be loosely called a high topped table, were locked in a battle of arm wrestling.
Wim got looks, even in his dirty work clothes he was still well dressed. A few others started talking low as Wim headed up to the boards that served as the bar top and placed an order.
A mug appeared with something in it. He took a drink and realized that what ever this was had been watered down. He was use to drinking “good” stuff and not swill. It took everything in him not to make a face and spit it out. It did manage to clear his throat and mouth. He turned and inspected the room and the patrons. Most would be in the mine or smelting ore. Any business would take place here since there were tables.
Wim wondered what part of this town and operation did Master Sadir had his hands in.
With an explanation , Wim dropped a couple silver on the bar to pay for Tarmen and the men and to get a bit of the stew and went and sat at a table.
Wim could see that miners were like foresters, they had a bond because of what they did and had a dialect of their own.
Wim thought, that he might be able to get some of the older orphan girls from back home to come to this place if some accommodations could be made. Female entertainers could be a short term fix, but to get these men to really work hard, it would take women.
He took a bite of the stew which was better than his drink.
