Banquet: Part 5

JP with Alexis , Gonyaul, Islana, Wim, Nicolaus, Winteroak, Voah, and Hunter:

“Most the time, it seems to work out that way with me. But not always and not for everyone,” he said carefully knowing he was heading towards something he did not want to say out loud.
So he changed the topic and asked, “Should we go save her before I wind up spending an evening at the Old Knight house listening to stories from long ago and people I have not heard of?”
Then he added, “I am glad you are safe.”

Wim didn't explain that comment and Islana knew enough not to ask. If he wanted to explain he would have, was the redhead's thought.

"Certainly," The huntress let the young Lord lead the way to rescue Elizabeth from boredom.

Him saying that he was glad she was safe, was meant with soft look, "Thank you."

Elizabeth introduced Wim and Wim introduced Ms. Islana and added she was the one who struck the fatal blow to Creed. In response Wim and Elizabeth were invited to dine with them in two weeks and the offer was extended to Islana as well. It was being bear stuck in a trap you could not get out of.

Islana was more than embarrassed by the acknowledgement given by Wim. She didn't feel it was deserved considering it was truly a group effort. Still, it wasn't the time or place to argue about it. The young huntress felt no choice but to accept the dinner invitation. So, she just accepted graciously. After a few minutes of what seemed like idol chatter. Islana politely excused herself and went to find Alexis and Gonyaul.

Alexis finished her quiet reverie and smiled warmly at Gonyaul’s approach.

“Yes, I think it did. How about you?”

Elizabeth dug her nails into Wim’s injured arm and he excused them to find Gonyaul and Alexis too. Wim rubbed the bandaged arm he had kept hidden.

Gonyaul was glad to hear it. He could tell there was a levity about Alexis that was different from before she went into the meeting. He smiled warmly back. He didn’t know what transpired but he was glad even an ounce of stress had been lifted off her shoulders.

Gonyaul beamed and from out of his very long sleeves produced the leather bag of seeds.

“Most well. I have Lions Figs.” He had no idea what a lion fig tree looked like or tasted like, but he now had some to try his hand at growing.

“Precious seeds, right? Did his research then, the Duke.”

There was a little hint of mirth in her voice.

Gonyaul nodded.

“Tis a puzzlement seed, I will figure out challenge when I rebuild garden.”

He returned the bag back inside the right sleeve. There must have been a compartment inside them somewhere. Then he lowered his arms and they disappeared beneath the sleeves.

“I get more eat and drink. You like me bring you back anything?”
