What To Do

Jiyn listened to all Islana had to tell him and he could not help but be worried. Too much was happening. A cult of death, witches granting wishes and plucking memories from minds, dead bodies, and soul traps. The more he thought about it the more he wanted to put some distance between him and the city.

But despite everything he couldn't help but be amazed at the young woman's resourcefulness. For someone so young she did look like a driven individual.

"You think Wim has anything to do with Hendrik's disappearance?" He asked barely whispering.

Islana thought for a moment. "I wish I knew. I think dealing with Wim would be easier than who else might have taken him." Keeping her voice low as well.

Islana sipped her Ale. "I really don't know what to do with all of this."

Jiyn understood her concerns. With Hendrik apparently missing, they didn't know who they could trust. Especially with how erratic Wim had seemed. Turning up in the glade where the bodies were found, talking about communing with trees, and how angry he had gotten after sacrificing some important memory to Omen.

"I'm not sure what to do either. We have to assume that he went missing because he was getting close to the killers..." He said looking around.

"That's what I think, as well, " Islana had another thought. "I don't believe any of us are safe. I feel like I should find Wim and let him know what I have found out. But I don't trust him. If he's not behind Hendrick's disappearance he is in as much danger as the rest of us. If he is behind the disappearance them going to him might put me in danger as well.". (edited)

'A tough decision indeed.' Jiyn thought. He pondered what to say for a few minutes. "Your instincts have led you to a few answers and revelations already." He told her with a smile. "Trust yourself. Whatever you decide it's best I have your back." He assured Islana.

Islana nodded and returned a small, brief smile to his reassuring words. She sighed, "That is reassuring but I do understand you might be called away. I believe I need to find someone else I can trust to help if you're not around."

Talking to Jiyn though had made her feel better and she suddenly realized she hadn't eaten since breakfast. One of the barmaids came over and she ordered some stew.

While waiting on the food, she said, "Would you have the time today to help me find Wim? I think it would help to know where he is and what he's been doing with his time."

"I can make the time." He said with a smile …
