Desdem - Sand Horde
JP with Cindy and Omni
With the advisors and everyone else out of the tent, Islana motioned towards the seats. "Would you like to sit?"
She herself sat and waited for the boy to make his decision before speaking again. "When we met in the other realm, you were with two people: a tall woman named Alexis and a man named Tarmen. I have just my instinct to go by but I believe they headed back to Ostiarium, likely passing back through Desdem, perhaps with two others: a blonde headed woman named Voah and a tattooed covered man named Gonyaul." She paused, wondering if he could sense the ever present conflict about those she refused to not call friends. "I do not get visions often, and have not seen them since that day during the pilgrimage. Despite everything those people are still important to me. I just want to know if they were alright the last time you saw them."
Berus smiled and with nod he took a seat in place across from Sister Locust.
“Your instincts are commendable. I did meet with people who bore those exact descriptions. And they did indeed pass through Desdem with intent toward the city of stone... While I can assure you they were alive after their trip through the desert and back… I would not say they were well. Burdened with injury, worry, or mixed hearts were they, all of them, in some way or another.”
Islana had the ever brief instinct to go help them, as she felt her heart break for the people she had been so close to.
While the Islana side her had those feelings, the Sisters within her were loudly protesting, reminding the young Prophetess that the people she held feelings for were now the enemy.
The redheaded woman had to close her eyes in an attempt to quiet down the voices. When her green eyes gazed back upon Berus, she realized the silence that had lingered for several moments.
"I am sorry about that." Islana looked down for a moment, before meeting his eyes again. "The past Sisters can be quite loud, at times."
There was a internal question from the young woman if she should have asked. It wasn't like there was anything she could do to help them.
"Well, I am glad, at least they were together." They would help each other. Truth was if Islana had never received the calling, never met Shalia, she would be on the run, alone. Islana had left behind that life, she just couldn't throw away her feeling for those that meant so much to her. "If it breaks any confidence you don't have to respond but were they bad off. You said some were injured, were they well enough to survive what's coming?"
Once again, maybe she should not have asked but the woman needed to know.
“Ah. Tarmen and Alexis did not sustain much in the way of physical injury, it was internal worry that weighed visibly upon them. Some of that worry was for you. As for Sun-hair, she is no stranger to physical pain, but it was a strain with the young man, Gonyual that was hurting her the most. Her fate may be intertwined with the impending war and winter. But… As you may well know, the future is but a cloud…” he made a motion with his hand. “Ever-shifting in a breeze of whims, wills, and unforeseen storms toward fate… the young man had been injured in your Holy City, but was getting around better. He has always been unclear in my visions, but no has now left my sight entirely. Somewhere along the beaches southeast of Desdem. I am sorry.”
The boy truly didn’t know what had transpired on the beach, but anticipated trouble and anguish.
What? Had something happened to Gonyaul? However those questions would remain internal because Berus had said he could not answer them. "I do understand, though I have to admit it would be nice if the future was a little clearer at times."
Islana paused for a moment, not wanting to overstep. She logically assumed he could not answer everything. "Do you sometimes see my friends? In your visions?"
The young boy smiled to Islana, "In truth, I saw their coming before we met, but I have only since looked in on them once... such magik can be taxing."
"Understandable," Islana nodded. However, with that she decided that it was best to stop asking about her friends. There was nothing she could do for them.
"May I ask you about your ability?" She wouldn't just ask, that seemed rude but Islana did have questions.
