An air of rare excitement surrounded the young Sister, as Amastan helped her prepare for the evening.
One would think that having a few 1,000 years of Sister's inside of her, commanding the Horde, preparing for war and all the other things that came with her position, Islana would never get bored.
Well, maybe boredom wasn't the correct term, but there was a certain tedium to the day to day tasks. A tedium she looked forward to breaking this evening.
The Prophetess with the fiery hair and green eyes was adorned in silk robes of forest and emerald green, trimmed in gold, with the sign of the twins embroidered on both sleeves.
Her bird necklace graced her neck, ivory combs and silk ribbons complimented her hair and outfit. Her Skara knife was the only weapon she carried, as it tended to make for good conversation.
It had taken her a few hours to get ready, but finally Islana was. Amastan had gotten ready during before coming to help her.
The two women stepped out if the Sister's tent and towards the feast tent. The approached to the guards bowing, then letting into the tent.
Islana took a quick look around, her other advisors were already here. She had invited Ch'Truta but assumed he would only show if it wasn't suspicious to those he was trying to infiltrate.
Being Desdem had shown itself as fairly neutral, Islana had also invited the heads of certain groups within the Horde, including the Odsier chief, Raud, and other important members of the Horde.
Her eyes landed though in the person she most wanted to speak with this evening, Berus. While her mind had some gaps from the pillagrimage, uncharacteristic as that was for the young woman who tended to recall everything, her visions of her friends and meeting the boy Shaman in spirit lingered with her.
Some of the people gathered bowed to Sister Locust, others did not, she hadn't expected everyone at this particular gathering would as they don't all follow her.
Islana took her seat, and gave the request for everyone to quiet down, which they did.
"Welcome, everyone. For those who have not met me yet, I am Sister Locust. I would like to thank everyone for being here and the leaders of Desdem for their town being welcoming of us." Well, they hadn't been hostile, close enough. Islana raised her glass. "I will not ask for anyone here to take sides, but I would like to propose a toast to the continued well being of all gathered and the town of Desdem." Someone chimed in, "And a quick end to the war."
Some faces dropped not sure of how Sister Locust would take to that interruption.
A welcoming smile crossed Islana's lips, "It would be hard to disagree with that." She drank to the toast, everyone followed suit. "Now, everything please enjoy yourselves, the feast will be served soon."
