Last Minute Supplies

Accompanying Alexis and the others to the stalls, Voah wanted to acquire some last minute supplies, deferring to the mercenary to lead as she seemed to have better luck with people wherever she went. Besides, she wanted to stay close to the mercenary. If what Berus said was true, the woman would need her.

Speaking of Berus… she wondered what it must be like for a child of only ten years to have so much knowledge and wisdom. Was it burdensome for him or liberating? Did it make life any easier? Could he use his foresight for his own personal gain? Could he change the future? If he couldn’t use visions of the future to change things for the better, what good was it?

Once in a while, the Arbiter would rear her ugly head again and speak her dark thoughts to Voah. She pondered the idea of hanging around to see if the Horde came through, infiltrating their ranks, and assassinating Islana. Not like capture was an option. Would it only serve to buy the Helians more time? Would the army continue forward to the city or wait for the rebirth of their leader? Would Berus’ vision still come to pass at a later time?

It sounded like Voah was going to end up in the city regardless of her choices. What a twisted fate… but she would not do such a thing to the young woman if it was not warranted. It wouldn’t serve her in any way. The one thing that would was staying faithful to the allies that remained. It came as a surprise indeed that their host Ekero had decided to come along and Voah could hardly decline a friend to the party.
