Berus looked at Voah locking eyes with her, holding her gaze for a while. He lifted a hand showing his palm to her in the Odsier style for a greeting.
"I was not sure our paths would cross, Sun Hair." He said noting how different she appeared to be from the visions he had. He looked at the two women. They carried bigger burdens than either would care to admit.
And they were both being pulled towards the centre of a war, the likes of which had not been seen in Arcadia for millennia.
Alexis listened quietly. It would appear Berus had somehow known about Voah, but at this point it wasn’t all that surprising.
She could see the inquisitive curiosity in her friend’s eyes, and just hoped she would sate that curiosity in a non-aggressive manner.
She felt her own thoughts drift off to what lay ahead, how impossible it seemed to achieve. And how little she still knew.
There was that name. Sun Hair. So… it seemed likely that Erewhon had also spoken of Voah to Berus, otherwise the boy had received news of her from afar. Voah didn’t take offense to the moniker, in fact, she quite liked the sound of it. What was the sun if not radiant? She was still proud to represent Kupen the Protector… even if she had stopped praying to the Pillars of late.
She returned the Odsier hand gesture to the boy-shaman, not leaving his gaze.
“You have me at a disadvantage, young master. We must talk… when it is convenient.”
Gonyaul stirred and took notice of the familiar Odsier hand gesture. He had been awfully quiet since arriving, not speaking a word. Even when introductions were made, he used sign language.
He was listening to everything going on; however, his eyes were off somewhere else. Was he currently in the past or future with his thoughts was unclear, but he was not entirely present.
Berus looked at the young man and a shadow of worry fell over him. Something seemed to have broke inside him. Such were the ways of war. Sometimes even the most experienced warriors would break. Their minds would splinter under the constant exposure to the brutalities of the world.
He turned to Voah and nodded. "I would like that..." He said and moved to help with the preparations for the meal. He would not have much time to spend with these individuals and know he should. Their paths were unmistakably connected to what was about to transpire and the future of Arcadia.
