Rorath

Right in the centre of Arcadia one can find the small mountain fastness of Rorath. The Still Valley is considered the heart of the continent, Rorath occupies the true center between the hemispheres.

Although the smallest of the mountain ranges in the continent it is perhaps one of the most bountiful regions of its kind. Believed to once have been an outpost of Fang's forgotten Empire, it thrived units isolation after the decline of the cousins becoming a trading powerhouse chiefly due to its trade with the Ozainae.

Several peoples and tribes have lived here for many centuries and they have their own culture, language and political organization, akin to chiefdoms bound together loosely into a tribal confederation.

Small rivers and waterways cut their way across Rorath's deep gorges. And in order to make agriculture possible in the region, the tribes have built terraces on the steep slopes of the valley sides. Since then, in addition to grain, potatoes, cabbage, arbutus trees and olives, also grapevines have found a home and truly flourished in Rorath.

The area has always been known for its wine making and its people proudly contest that theirs is the best in the land. Wine making is a longstanding tradition among the tribes of Rorath, going back thousands of years. A popular saying among the tribes is "More wine than blood flows through our veins..."

The secrets of their trade are guarded jealously, but for the most part the tribes are welcoming of anyone coming in peace and willing to trade. Many call Rorath,.Haven due to its geographical position between the life sapping heat of Great Desert of Skulls and the twisted and dangerous lands of the Still Valley.
