Four months before landfall in Arcadia

Not long now. Not long before the three deep sea vessels, a miracle of modern engineering, were due to set sail across the Sea of Storms, westbound, in search of the mythical land rumoured to exist far to the West.

He had returned home to set his affairs in order. His oldest son would take over the reigns of ruling Bloodstone in his absence, and should he died the young man would take over his title and his lands as he had once done from his father.

Sir Zane knew he would not see his homeland again in this lifetime. Even if the mission was a success he would be seeing the remaining of his days in Arcadia.

The last month he had gathered that this enterprise had been the brainchild of an Trojan merchant and navigator by the name of Bogart Rodoz. Largely self-educated, he was knowledgeable in geography, astronomy, and history.

He developed the plans for the new breed of sea vessels that could travel further away from continental coasts and stay out at sea for longer periods of time. He persistently lobbied his own king for almost two decades to invest and fund his experiments and expeditions across the Sea of Storms but was always seen as a foolish dreamer seeking myths and dreams.

Somehow he had convinced King Pilos Ursuzi II of Salos to fund him instead. Rumours around court were that if land was indeed found for the King to declare himself Emperor and the name of the realm changed to Empire of Salos.

Pilos Ursuzi had always been an ambitious man, but above all he hungered to go down in the annals of history as one of the great rulers of the land.

He put those thoughts aside for a few moments, as he entered the prestigious Inn known as 'The Golden Bee in search of one of the only few men that had volunteer to join the expedition freely.
