Questioning Her Beau
JP with Omni, Lorem, Bandorchu and Lucian.
Voah wasn’t comfortable with the idea of Gonyaul going into danger, especially after last night and Alexis planned on going back against the brotherhood.
“What are you thinking?” she asked Gonyaul with shock and concern.
It also stung a little that he so easily offered to follow Alexis into danger yet shunned Voah’s actions.
Gonyaul turned his head to face Voah. It caused a throbbing sensation behind the wound, deeper in his head beneath his eyes. He also moved his bandaged injured hand up and gently rested it over his heart, being careful not to touch the hurt areas across his front if at all possible.
“Kagim. I am made for humanity, to be kind and generous. When do this, it flows to world and makes right suffering and keeps evil away.” These were the ingrained beliefs of his people.
He started coughing and had to return his head to face the ceiling. He collected himself wearily and tried to make eye contact by only moving his eyes. “Alexis say Ether will destroy world. So I will help stop Ether to keep everyone safe.” He was referring to the well-being of both sides of the current conflict in Arcadia. In addition, he was thinking in simple terms. He saw the threat as much greater than the quarrels between humans, or between gods. There was much more at stake from this new information; creation itself.
“To keep my friends safe.” His lips quivered as he thought about not getting to see Islana. He paused, “So children have a better life with peace and prosper.”
His voice cracked. “I am scared much. No brave. But if no us, who?” His voice trailed off a little from fatigue and with the realization that this dangerous quest was the only option which had a chance at survival. If he was left on his own he was certain he wouldn’t make it.
That answer wasn’t good enough for her. Voah wasn’t convinced that this Ether was going to somehow destroy the world, but if it was the cause of magik, she was willing to put a stop to it. It was the wielders who were the danger. The Inquisition had been trying to stop them for centuries.
“Why now? What is it you think I’ve been doing this whole time?“
Everyone could sense the hurt in her voice.
