The prospector
Jp with Lorem, Omni and Bandorchu
Voah noticed Alexis’ gaze shift to the murals.
“About that... have you and Islana spoken to these Twin Gods? Is that how Islana went from searching for me alongside Hunter, to being enslaved by a cryomancer and now worshipped as some godhead to the Ozainae? I can’t make sense of it all, but I’m starting to question that prospector, Alcuin, who fed me the information when I saved him from that witch.”
Alexis froze.
“Alcuin.”
She turned towards Voah.
“Prospector Alcuin. Describe him.”
She looked to the mercenary, slightly confused.
“Short greying hair, balding, beard and mustache… maybe blue eyes… earrings, and a small chip out of his right ear. You must have missed him during the fight but I was under the impression he offered to help you all search for Tarmen and myself in Fang.”
“That fucking mhic na galla!”
Alexis roared, beginning to suspect who it was that she happened to aid.
“If I knew it was him I’d left him for the fucking Brotherhood!”
She punched the wall in agitation, taking a minute to try and calm herself down to a point where she could explain her outburst to the most likely by now very bewildered ex-Arbiter.
“‘Prospector’ Alcuin is a fucking head hunter in disguise, who went after both Hunter and Islana. So if you are looking for someone who has set this whole avalanche into motion, that would be him.”
She finally managed to clarify through gritted teeth.
The combination of loud sounds from Alexis’s voice and the wall, startled Gonyaul out of his slumber. Some saliva went down the wrong tube and caused him to enter into a weak coughing fit to clear his windpipe.
He remained laying still on the bedding; however, his eyes opened with several dress rehearsals before finally staying that way. His dark eyes looked about the ceiling and upper walls trying to reorient himself; where was he and who was with him.
He calmed down noticing the others nearby. He could remember that they were conversing while he was meditating; it was like distant ambient noice while he tried to concentrate. Then he passed out. On both accounts, he missed everything they had said.
Voah palmed her temples in both hands and continued running them over her head through her hair.
“Some fucking Inquisitor I’ve turned out to be… So you know what really happened to them? With Hunter and Islana?”
