We Are Here
JP with Lucian, Bandorchu, and Lorem
Gonyaul’s awakening queued Tarmen’s own departure from the conversation, leaving Voah to tend to her lover.
After painfully standing, he saw the rest of their group up and decided to confront the rest of his current worries.
Making his way over to Alexis and Silina, he stopped close by to respectfully announce his presence, focusing on Silina and speaking her tongue based on her probable discomfort in this situation.
“You are well?”
Hearing Gonyaul’s voice had an intense wave of relief wash over Alexis, even though the pain it was laced with almost made her wince in sympathy.
“Yes, Gonyaul, we are here.”
she softly called over, but remained for now where she was as to give the lovers a moment to themselves.
She nodded slightly to Tarmen as he joined the young girl and her, letting him take up the conversation. They clearly had some history together.
Gonyaul winced at the reply, his head wouldn’t stop pulsing at the slightest sound. The high fever made it even more intolerable. He paused and tried to smile; however, found that he could not bring himself to do it.
His brow furrowed in confusion. He felt joy upon hearing Alexis. He was elated she was there, grateful she saved them, and eager to see her. Yet, despite how he felt he couldn’t bring himself to smile. His anxiety grew. Was he broken? Or was it because he had taken a whip to the face?
The best he could muster was to reply back with what he was thinking. “I missed you so much.”
He didn’t turn his head to see her, but faced stiffly at the ceiling as if paralyzed; eyes closed still. As perceptive as Alexis is, she definitely picked up on something amiss in his personality from when last they were together. That hopeful spark seemed extinguished.
He wasn’t trying to start a conversation, he could tell she was talking to others. It was just him telling the truth. Vauxians always told the truth.
Even though he knew it was the worst thing for him, he had a miserable desire to be alone.
