Same Bruises, Different Story

As Gon’yaul journeyed deeper into his mental trappings, Tarmen was stirring from his own.
It started as twitching, quickly followed by an attempt to strike an unseen foe. The soreness that radiated from his shoulder finished the job of waking him, groaning as his bandaged wounds announced their discomfort to him in full.
Shuffling to sit up, he wondered if it would have been better to stay in the nightmare he had been suffering.
Once again he had faced the Boar-worm, but this time it had left the depths of Fang, instead chasing him through the streets of the city.
Even as he grasped consciousness, the damned rumbling remained. The migraine he had gained before had luckily subsided, giving him some ability to push the wrigging beast back to its depths.

Peering through strained eyes, he saw Voah and Alexis already awake. From Voah’s perplexed expression and Alexis squatting in a corner though, he wasn’t sure what he had woken to.
Before addressing the two, he sought out Silina. The girl had fought with him twice now and proven the better asset both times, leaving him wanting to repay her in some way other than action. The gold that he had been able to keep would definitely help with that.
In his visual sweep he saw Barrel Boy wrapped like a corpse, with his lack of movement not helping in the comparison. He guessed that Voah’s lack of grief meant that he still lived, something that always perplexed him greatly, in a good way.
A part of him felt pity for a boy like him to suffer such injuries, though it might do him some good.

Tarmen found Silina nearby, luckily not as harmed as he was. Had she sought him out yesterday? He had deduced that she had failed in her religious quest given the red headed girl now bearing the mantle, so wasn’t sure if it had been coincidence that they had crossed paths or a deliberate choice on her part to find him.
He instinctively reached for his water skin, any further thoughts being interrupted by the desert that had formed in his throat. Upon not finding it, he began searching for any source of water as he settled into a small coughing fit.
