Arak grabbed a jar nearby full with multicoloured pebbles and grabbed a handful and placed it on the wooden counter.
Slowly she gathered around 10 large stones and placed 10 smaller ones on top of the larger ones. She grabbed on of the smaller pebbles and pointed at the egg Voah carried.
"Skara kçar..." Arak said. She than pointed at all the stones, both large and small and touched Voah's forehead.
"All Skara, one mind. Hive." She explained hoping the woman understood. "Not like and or bee. Like men."
Pulling one of the smaller pebbles away from the group of stones she pointed at the egg.
"Unbound. No hive. Lesser..."
She grabbed the egg and held it to the light, looking into its hard shell as well as putting it close to her ear.
"Hatch soon. Maybe survive." She paused looking at the woman as if deciding that she would share more. The old tales and rumours.
"Older people say. Feed Skara your blood. Bind to you." She whispered. "Most unclean..." She seemed to shudder.
Before Voah could ask any further questions a small child came into the shop waving her arms excitedly and speaking fast.
The old woman smiled.
"Go now. Sister Locust returns."
