The Arbiter spent the next few days taking it easy, focusing on her exercise and meditation. She scoured her tomes for the reassurance of her faith. Looking to the skies and other things for messages from the gods.
She had the desire to paint again, after all it had been several months. It took a few days to find the materials around the colony, but Voah was able to acquire an easel, canvas, and a good variety of brushes and paints.
On a particularly dry evening, Voah bundled up in furs, took her tools to the beach just north of the docks, She got set up to paint just before sunset. Though it didn’t last long, she was able to capture the beautiful color of the pinks, purples, orange, blues, and creams of the sky and horizon. The painted image was impressive.
The days were wet and the nights, cold. Voah could handle the cold for a time but her quarters in the priory were drafty. She had spent time away from the Keep as she felt somewhat embarrassed after the last meeting won’t the Duke. Later in the week, she decided that she needed some fur bedding and things for her quarters.
Hunter looked like a frightened rabbit when she turned up at the twins house looking for him.
“Don’t worry, I’m not here on business,” she teased. “I was hoping I could persuade you to get hold of some very specific furs for me. If you are willing and able to help me.”
