Fighting Demons (Part One)
The multi-colored clothes, plume reaching upward and rings which seemed to illuminate every finger in the glow of the fire, Islana recognized this woman.
Though the two had never spoken, nor did she have any idea of the older woman's name, Melandra had stood out in the Keep. It was likely she stood out, just about anyway. Islana, at the time, had wondered what it would be like to be free enough to want to draw attention to yourself, on purpose.
Melandra spoke of skill and an upcoming war. The gaze of emerald eyes landed on the blades which landed at the feet of her and Madaya, unsure of what to do.
At the sound of laughter, Islana quickly spun around. Them. A feel of seething anger towards the two men bubbled underneath her surface. How much the huntress despised both of them.
"Red Child," Stram taunted her with the name.
Alcuin sneered, giving a sinister laugh.
Madaya looked confused and Islana couldn't help but feel bad for the girl; having been dragged into this fight. After all, these were Islana's demons, not that of her young friend.
The huntress picked up the sword, and closed her eyes, allowing images to form of everyone she had seen use a sword. It had never been her weapon of choice but between staying at the Keep and, certainly, living with Alexis, on top of how observant Islana could be made for having picked up a few things.
The young woman then picked up the dagger and handed it to Madaya who looked more and more unsure with every passing moment.
"These men are evil. They would kill people, like us, just as soon as look at us." Torture us, sell us into slavery was what Islana didn't say.
The next words didn't have time to leave her lips as both men came at Islana. Of course, they'd want to get rid of her first.
There was no waiting, no hesitation as the huntress ran forward and blade met blade. The fight has begun.
