The Chamber of Trials

Temple of The Wandering

Early the next morning, just as the sun rose across the horizon, the three Penitents were woken, by the servant assigned to each in the last few days.

Today, there was no tray of food, no jugs of water, no strolls in the gardens. They were asked to follow, leaving everything behind except for the white robe they wore.

The three walked again through empty corridors although this time the silence was cut with the sound of distant chants that echoed through the Temple of The Wandering. Thr cadence and repetitiveness of the words, made it sound like ancient prayers spoke in archaic Ozainae.

The three Penintents were lead to a room deep in the heart of the Temple. The room was oval with the typical domed ceiling traditional of the desert people architecture. Its walls were red carved in strange geometrical symbols and its ceiling completely black. The white marble floor was streaked greenish, purple natural stone patters and felt cold as the desert night once they stepped into it.

There were no windows, tables or chairs adorning the room. Only a thin stone dais, that reached waist high, right at the centre of the room. It looked like a pylon waiting to receive an item...

The three were left in the room and the doors from which they entered closed behind them. This was the beginning of their Trial...

Islana, Madaya or Silina would emerge as the vessel for the next Prophetess of the Twin Gods...
