Full Disclosure
JP with Omni and Lorem:
When their eyes met he smiled as if to say ~good morning, it is nice to see you~. His eyes were a dark as a bottomless pit, or a night sky without any heavenly lights; the pupil and iris equally black with no visible contrast.
He listened to her deflecting response. It was becoming apparent that she would prefer not to talk about this if given the option. He pressed on,
“Begin at beginning and when get to end, stop?” He added after a second, “Facts”.
His tone was not that of a parent scolding a child, nor that of a bully interrogating a victim. Everything about his demeanor spoke volumes that he was someone that genuinely wanted to look after her best interests and well-being.
Voah took her time summarizing in full disclosure the events of the previous day, starting with acquiring the dye from the children all the way to the encounter with the ice sorceress.
Gonyaul actively listened and chose to completely clear his mind of any inner dialogue, tangents or judgements. He was appreciative that she finally relented to trust him with full disclosure and stop either shielding him from facts because she thought him unable to handle it or too simple to understand. It felt good to be elevated to someone worth confiding in, instead of being treated like a stranger.
When she finished he smiled empathetically and placed a hand on her knee. “Thank you for share. You had tough day.” That last part was an understatement, to say the least, but he wanted to openly acknowledge that what she explained was rougher than he imagined when he didn’t have all the details.
Her information was helping to fill the gaps in his thought process on the matter. Some things were answered in his mind, other things connected but kept going, and in some cases new questions formed. He took a quick drink of water to wash down a bite of brunch. There was something he needed to ask because he didn’t understand what she actually meant, and he didn’t want to assume anything in this instance.
“Last night…” he stopped and corrected himself, his time tables a bit off from the all nighter. “This morning, you say to me ‘I hear you’” he paused to gauge her facial response. Did she remember that?
“What did you hear?”
