Voah smiled. Her disguise had worked to some degree at least. Stepping off into a secluded alleyway, she stopped and turned to Alcuin.
“Well met, Alcuin. I am Voah Sahnsuur, you have the mercy of being saved by the Holy Sword of Vastad.”
She smiled kindly and held out the sword in display.
“It seems you have His favor.”
She allowed him to behold it for a moment before slipping it back into its sheath and continuing her trek toward the camp which they were nearing.
“You must forgive me, I have been away from the Gate City since the spring hunting down remnants of the Creed. Now then… I ask you… How did you come to hunt witches in Fang and beyond? Are you sanctioned by the Inquisition?”
Malacost could not keep the surprise from his face, in fact it would help him with what was to come next.
"I cannot believe. Surely it is the will of the Pillars." He said truly astonished. "I left Aquilo more than a month ago searching for you with a young huntress and an another man. I'm a prospector that offered my assistance in exchange for being granted access to the mountains." He said truthfully to start with. "A few days as we traveled into Fang we were ambushed by that witch and her men. She seemed very keen on capturing the redhead. I barely escaped and been tracking her ever since. I just could not live with the stain upon my honour if I had abandoned the others to their fate. The Pillars demanded retribution and that I offered my life trying." His zeal was true and that made his words heavy with meaning.
"As far as I can tell the witch sold the man to another clan and took the girl as a plaything for her men." He said building layers to his story that she would not be able to corroborate easily. At least until he knew he could trust her with who he truly was.
"The girl I have not seen since the desert. They might have killed her after they were tired of using her." A few flourished of brutality to paint the witch as the real enemy and tug at her anger.
"But now I know why the Pillars willed me to continue my quest." He said bowing deeply. "Now an Arbiter of the faith stands at my shoulder." He said his eyes and face beaming up at her.
