Islana vs The Skara (Part One)

Islana only made it a few steps before she had fallen back to the ground. She tried again, same result. Between the pain and loss of strength it was pointless and wasting time to try to get out of there.

Madaya's mouth opened wide and she suddenly gasped. Islana turned and spotted the Skara seemed to have picked up speed as it was headed straight for them.

Islana's mind and body were weak, her power drained, but without being able to run, there was only one other answer. She needed to fight.

Green eyes met brown terrified ones, and the redhead nodded towards the brown haired girl. Then the huntress grabbed her bow and two arrows and moved out in front of the wall, giving a little distance between herself and the barrier.

First line of defense always had been the huntress' skills with a bow. This time was no different, as she sent the first arrow though the sky. It was obvious two little arrows wouldn't kill such an enormous creature but maybe it could slow it down just a hair.

Every animal had spots that if hit correctly with the correct weapon, would kill or incapacitate the it. Islana didn't know where that would be on the Skara and she lacked the correct weapon. However, its legs seemed to be the least protected part that could be aimed at.

The first arrow did manage to hit the center leg on the creature's left. The Skara stopped for a moment, the chattering got louder and it kept moving.

Second arrow was sent but Islana couldn't have predicted the Skara's sudden shift in direction. Just enough that the arrow hit one of the pinchers and bounced off.

The ground shook at the movements of the large being, the chittering became louder till it was almost deafening, the smell was one of death. The Skara was upon Islana.
