Traveling Companions

Knowing what it was like to have something or someone completely terrify her, Islana understood the girl constantly looking back. It was also not a bad thing to be on guard.

Madaya seemed impressed by Kaithak, or more that Kaithak was following them. Islana didn't know enough words in Ozanine to say that Kaithak was her falcon.

It was obvious that this young girl would know more about the ways of the desert than Islana, so taking her advice about the water and the scarf was an easy decision. It felt remarkably good on her sun battered skin.

Kaithak still flew overhead in large circles. Maybe, it was the heat or just that protecting the girl was first in the woman's mind but it wasn't till that moment that she thought to call down the bird of prey.

Moving slightly away from the girl, eyes flashing green lighting and Kaithak landed on Islana's arm. The witch showed the girl the falcon.

"Kaithak," pointing at the bird.

Kaithak seemed to be interested in the girl but gave no signs of being concerned. Islana petted the falcon on the back of his head, which was something he always enjoyed.

She pointed to Madaya and then to the bird, in an attempt to ask the girl to come closer and if she wanted to pet Kaithak.
