Shalia was near her tent as the sun stared to go down, pondering the implications of the suspected death of Seer Locust and the next step in her journey.

Most people including Amastan and Agizul were down by the river conducting repairs to the barque that was damaged during the mighty sandstorm.

She first heard a loud whistling sound from a dune over the edge of the oasis, before the sound of horses and shouting reached her and two of her guards.

Looking towards the sounds they saw a group of men on camels and on foot creating the dune in a line ten across. She noticed some of the Ozainae labourers stopping what they were doing looking quizzically at the newcomers.

Before anyone could react Shalia saw the men pulling their curved swords from their belts and lifting their spears before rushing down into the oasis to attack.
