JP with Lucian, Winteroak and Bandorchu
There was a short pause before Alexis answered.
“Absolutely nothing.”
Simple honesty, as it was her nature.
Looking Tar in the eyes, she continued.
“In fact, prior to pointing it out on your map, which, by the way, I don’t even know why I did, I had no idea that something or someplace named ‘Desdem’ existed. Let alone where. So it is everyone’s guess wether I’m just going crazy, or something or someone really wants us to take that route. Consider me suitably freaked out either way.”
After that exposition she grimaced and turned to Tarmen, feeling contrite.
“I’m sorry. I should have said something before. Don’t really have an excuse.”
Tar didn't say anything. There was very little else to say. It was similar to what he experienced sometimes. God touched. He picked a hot mussel and cracked it open, not feeling the heat at all.
Tarmen shook his head to blow away her concern.
“After everythin’ we’ve seen, would be hard to call you crazy. Besides, we all hide doubts, no shame in that.”
“… thank you.”
Alexis said in response, quietly and sincerely, grateful for his words.
She sighed, looking back to Tar handling his mussel.
“So since that friendly travel recommendation didn’t come with an in-depth description of the place, would you happen to know something about this ‘Desdem’?”
Tas looked up grabbing a razor clam and sucking the tender meat out of it. Chewing on it he looked at Alexis curiously wondering why she seemed to just accept what had happened.
"It's a village of sorts." He said. " On a trading route between the south, western Fang and the Holy City of Gra'akast." He replied. He really didn't know more about it than that. " We should be able to secure passage in a caravan is Desdem."
“If they understand us. And are somewhat open to foreigners.”
Even the Odonine, who were allied with Ostiarium right now, were not exactly friendly. Who knew how those people felt about intruders in their land?
“Am I right to assume you gathered some language skills in your time here? Care to share a bit while we are traveling?”
The language barriers had been vexing Alexis a lot. It was seriously annoying, putting it mildly, to only be able to communicate via a translator. Now they wouldn’t be able to talk philosophy after a few days, but in her mind every extra word learned could help.
