JP with Winteroak and Bandorchu
Tar hardly listened to Alexis and Tarmen's exchange. He simply concentrated on making sense of the clues on both carvings of the broken husk. He could make little sense of the second part. Unsure if it was a lack of knowledge or if the man from Kru'll had simply made a mistake when copying the markings. He saw what looked like a river, another set of starts that complemented the first constellation he found in the Friar's piece. Waving lines, crossed bones, an altar... He kept drawing frenetically making little notes as he went along. He was done maybe half a bell later. He looked up incredulously. She wouldn't believe him. He could scarcely believe it himself
"Gra'akast..." He said looking directly at Alexis. "That's where our destination lays."
Alexis blinked.
“Am I supposed to know where that is?”
The man’s expression indicated he had not expected that destination.
"Holy City in the Great Desert of Skulls." He told her.
“The dessert? Where the Ozainae come from?”
She asked after trying to get an idea where on Arcadia that would be.
It would make sense in a way. The shaft could have been a spoil of war, taken away by the victors.
“… that’s even beyond Fang, isn’t it.”
He nodded but he was obviously confused. "And that is where your friend is going too..." He said bewildered looking at the full map in front of him.
Alexis was speechless for a moment, eyes wide.
Then she rested her brow on her hand, chuckling both soundlessly and mirthlessly.
Finally she just shook her head and looked at Tarmen.
“Well, Tarmen, it looks like we’ll be traveling in the same direction. Mind some company on the road?”
Turning to Tar, she addressed his bewilderment.
“You did say the map was not of Odonine making. Would it be so strange, that the Ozainae would take it with them?”
"I... I don't know..." He said honestly. "I had assumed this would be the work of Fosia and his followers. But now?" He shrugged uncertain of what this could mean. Something struck as strange in Alexis reaction. How she had taken his word that both her friend and the shaft were in the same place. No doubt at all that he could be lying to continue to get her help. But he didn't dwell on it. He was going to need all the help he could.
He turned another page on Tarmen's book and started to draw a rough map of Eastern Arcadia so they could plot a way to the Holy City.
